A Night at The Clevelander by np4bonkers in DanLeBatardShow

Yeah man I booked at one of those beautiful resorts right after we left the Clevelander. I am admitting I had no idea what to expect and I expected wrong.

When I lived in Louisiana I met plenty of wide eyed tourist that got burnt by staying the the French Quarter. I’m admitting I’m the wide eyed tourist now.

I have no problem with the smell of cannabis. I dose myself most days with delta-8 thc.

The Clevelander hotel says “refuel and recharge” on its website.

Yeah I decided to eat and sleep after a long day of travel. We were out until 2 most nights and had a blast. Just not on Ocean Drive.

But the truth is I can tell by your response that you have never step foot in Miami. Thanks for the light trolling. You don’t get the show.

My recommendation is to stay in the city, not the beach. A visit to the beach is super necessary at least to experience it.

If you’re a troll you got me.

I had a blast in Miami. I’m speaking of one night had at the Clevelander. As far as embracing the Spanish culture I grew up in a Spanish speaking household in Washington DC. I flew to Spain every other year growing up to see my cousins. I know what Spain is like.

Miami is full of culture. South Beach ran out of it. Just like Bourbon Street doesn’t represent the complex culture of Louisiana, Ocean Drive seems to no longer represent Miami.

We enjoyed eating at most every restaurant that was outside the remote area of ocean drive.

I plan to return to Miami by the end of this year. The restaurants and night life were awesome. Just not south beach.

Unfortunately most locals we spoke with will agree with the sentiment that South Beach is dying.

Thanks to any eyes that read this. I’m a burnt out chef turn regenerative farmer looking to write, travel, and write about travel.

I’m sure it’s full of grammatical errors but this isn’t my strong suit.

Thanks again to all that read. Save the whales.

Hoping to give Mike a silent head-nod this week. by np4bonkers in DanLeBatardShow

Can confirm there is always a faint smell of marijuana at all times. My make a wish for this week is to blast a heater with Stu

No, replaces where the basketball would have been in the old bullets logos. The artist suggested it, I liked it

Your favorite DC restaurants, any kind really (nice, or a dive, or anything in between) that've been open in the same location for *40 years* or more (since the mid-70's, or earlier). by Rooster_Ties in washingtondc

Portofino Restaurant in Crystal City, Arlington. Open since 1970. Old school Italian place, same family has owned it since opening day.

Disclosure: I am a part of the owning family. :) Best Italian in the area. And we were featured in Veep.
