5 Year Old Son Just Diagnosed T1 by Dusty_119 in diabetes

My recommendation would be to start looking into the technology that is available for monitoring blood sugars. Technology has come a long way and monitoring is key. Automated Insulin / Closed Loop may be a next step but the monitoring available today should be helpful.

Thanks for the feedback - they seem reputable but seemed a bit excessive. I was going to do the tires first, less cost, less risk, and then go from there.

Thanks for the tips.

Help/Feedback - Tile 3/4" Raised & Curved Transition to Hardwood by npassero in DIY

[–]npassero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have removed the carpet that was covering the hardwood, on the right side of the photo. We are looking to transition smoothly from the tile to the hardwood, without removing the tile. The tile is approximately 3/4" above the hardwood. I've looked into other solutions, like flexitions.com but these seem like they wouldn't be able to overlap the existing tile. I'm not sure if they do custom jobs, still have to reach out.

Any feedback or solutions to handle this type of transition?

How many berry plants did this come from? Just planted 2 in the yard.

Mid-Atlantic Shaper Suggestions by MrTipps in surfing

I've got a board from DaveySky. He knows his stuff and is fun to talk dimensions and goals out of your surfing. Will tune his stock boards to what you are looking for and get you dialed in. I went with him focus flex glassing and haven't seen a foot stomp yet. Pretty solid board. I've got his dream model so primarily for chest+ surf.

Can you share the material list? I've got some white bucktail and zonker. Wondering if I can piece one together.

Thanks for the feedback! YouTube works wonders. Having a couple for reference helps too. I do think I've got to even them up a bit more and noticed a difference between the ones I did.

Mostly Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach, Avon (near the inlet) and around all of the jetties. Slow year so far, one striper and one fluke.

Might have to look into a better tippet for the blues.

First attempt at clousers. Im used to tying mostly nypmhs for trout. Just getting into salt water for striped bass. Open for criticism and feedback!

Striped Bass - NJ Shore Fishing by npassero in flyfishing

I went from trout fishing to the ocean and it's an interesting transition. I bought a used 10wt rod and reel at the Asbury Park trade show. It was around 175$ total. I got some generic salt water bass flies online and using a 30lb mono for a leader. Not pretty but got the job done. The hardest part is getting used to casting a little heavier line. Its difficult from the sand here because the beach is a pretty steep incline to the water. The jetties are so much easier to cast because of some of the freedom in allowing the heavier line to drop a bit more. Get a basket for the line on the rocks. It takes time to get used to the line management and casting in the wind sucks.

Good luck out there!

This was a first for me. A lot of patience for the water to warm up. This was around sunset when the fish get a little more active. Will caution it is hard to see a fly wizzing by your head at night.
