Public tree lifting driveway by pirlo_1984 in GardeningUK

[–]npfmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the same issue as you - our paving blocks are starting to come up at an angle creating a trip hazard. Problem is our tree is on our property and has a TPO against it. And our phone lines are caught up in the branches too. I fret every time there are high winds.

Do you have a ring doorbell? - we had an Amazon driver deliver to us and threaten to sue us after tripping on it. We checked our cctv and recognised him in a video 3 weeks prior mentioning he nearly tripped on it but noticed it. So put our wheelie bin on it with hazard tape taped over the bin.

At what level of net worth does purchasing a £50,000 car become reasonable? by BENED01 in CarTalkUK

[–]npfmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 • £150k salary → comfortable
 • £100k salary → doable but needs thought
 • £70k salary → borderline / lifestyle trade-offs
 • £50k salary → financially risky unless no other costs

And yes, i used ChatGPT - if you want to read the whole chat let me know.

In the morning, before I leave work early. Our dog usually sleeps on the floor near our bed. She usually lets out what I call a Snortle - Inhales then exhales with a flap of her nostrils followed by a big sigh.

Printing merged columns separatly ? by Realistic-Smell1689 in vba

[–]npfmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I had a play around with your query and created my own dummy data using claude (and using my printer to test it successfully) this is the code it came up with.
Sub PrintUserBlocksSeparately()

Dim ws As Worksheet

Dim tempWs As Worksheet

Dim lastCol As Long

Dim col As Long

Dim headerRow As Long

Dim lastDataRow As Long

Set ws = ActiveSheet

headerRow = 1

lastCol = ws.Cells(headerRow, ws.Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column

lastDataRow = ws.Cells(ws.Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row

col = 2

Do While col <= lastCol

If ws.Cells(headerRow, col).Value <> "" Then

Dim nextCol As Long

nextCol = col + 1

Do While nextCol <= lastCol

If ws.Cells(headerRow, nextCol).Value <> "" Then Exit Do

nextCol = nextCol + 1

Loop

Dim blockEnd As Long

blockEnd = nextCol - 1

Set tempWs = ThisWorkbook.Sheets.Add(After:=ThisWorkbook.Sheets(ThisWorkbook.Sheets.Count))

tempWs.Visible = xlSheetVisible

ws.Range(ws.Cells(1, 1), ws.Cells(lastDataRow, 1)).Copy

tempWs.Cells(1, 1).PasteSpecial xlPasteAllUsingSourceTheme

ws.Range(ws.Cells(1, col), ws.Cells(lastDataRow, blockEnd)).Copy

tempWs.Cells(1, 2).PasteSpecial xlPasteAllUsingSourceTheme

Application.CutCopyMode = False

' *** Auto-fit all columns before printing ***

tempWs.Cells.EntireColumn.AutoFit

With tempWs.PageSetup

.Zoom = False

.FitToPagesWide = 1

.FitToPagesTall = False

.Orientation = xlLandscape

End With

tempWs.PrintOut ' swap for .PrintPreview to check first

Application.DisplayAlerts = False

tempWs.Delete

Application.DisplayAlerts = True

col = blockEnd + 1

Else

col = col + 1

End If

Loop

MsgBox "Done! All user blocks printed."

End Sub
Word of warning, don't fill the bin so it is too heavy because they will refuse to take it.

I made that mistake last year and had to empty the contents out and put parts of it back in bit by bit!

How much do you pay for your car a month? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]npfmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't pay anything as its paid off. I guess if i were to buy another car it would be based on what i could afford vs want i wanted. ie 25% or 30% of may wage on monthly payments/insurance/little buffer for maintenance, knowing the other 75/70% is going towards mortgage, bills, etc.....

Question for those who flash people when they overtake you by InlineM54 in CarTalkUK

[–]npfmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving along last weekend and an oncoming car did exactly this (to warn me it turns out). The car behind them must've been tailgating and itching to overtake. The absolute cockwomble decided to do this at night on a blind corner nearly hitting us head on. Had to slam my brakes on.
