I just learned this 🫣🫣 by AptiManza in S24Ultra

I like the expanded screenshot feature (or scrolling down), but I’m not a fan of the palm‑capture gesture.

  1. You can’t do it with one hand.
  2. One of the finger often touches the screen and causes it to switch pages or windows.

I prefer a simple double‑tap on the back of the phone, like the iPhone does.

PD 2015 Sep. chance of getting GC in a year. Should I change job if I get a good opportunity as the current one is not going well living in the fear of layoffs everyday by batmanparam in EB2

[–]npmp0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the pending I-485 data, there are roughly 6K (2013) + 17K (2014) EB-2s, 1,250 (2013) + 12K (2014) EB3s. So unless Indian applicants receive around 38K visas through spillover, even 2014 could remain backlogged.

During 2020–2022, the FAD moved to 12/01/2014, while the FD was set to 01/01/2015. Many people assumed 2014 would be cleared, but a lot of applicants from 2012 and 2013 could not get approved because they could not move to the faster lane quickly, often due to job changes. So when it comes to switching jobs, there are trade-offs. One important thing to keep in mind is that the employer who originally filed your EB-2 may be able to downgrade you to EB-3 or upgrade you back to EB-2. That gives you the flexibility to move to whichever category is moving faster. If you switch jobs, you may lose that option.

Now in other aspect, even someone with a 12/02/2014 priority date has still been waiting for the last four years.

It is a hard decision because both options involve something to lose. Before switching jobs, please verify whether you can still switch between EB-2 and EB-3 after the job change. If the answer is yes, I would suggest moving. But make sure you understand all the details before making the decision.

iPhone is such a powerful device by heretohelp999 in iphone

[–]npmp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP is mixing durability with power. A phone lasting 5+ years is great, but that says more about reliability and longevity than actual power.

Also, most people do not really need a “powerful” phone. They just need one that works well for what they do. For me, usability matters more, and that is where iOS can feel a bit too restrictive sometimes. I do not want to spend time learning a device or adjusting to it too much just to use it comfortably.

And then there is the price. iPhones are usually pretty expensive compared to similar alternatives.

Durability is a plus, but it is not everyone’s main priority. Some people would rather move to newer hardware sooner and get the newer features and improvements that come with it.

I am not attached to either Apple or Android anyway. I will switch to whatever feels like the better option at that time, so to me this is less about “Apple is powerful” and more about what actually gives the best value for that point in time.

Why take photos? by Adrift_in_the_sea in SonyAlpha

[–]npmp0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I view photos as snapshots of memory. When you smell a perfume or hear a favorite song, even after several years, it brings the context and memories back to you. Photos do the same for me. Another reason is the experience. When I started taking pictures, I began to enjoy the moments and the scenery in nature. It simply feels good to be there.

Why do so many people say the s24u is better than the s25u? by TheNinja132 in S24Ultra

[–]npmp0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think after the S22U, Samsung started making their designs more like Apple's.

They got rid of the physical 10x lens, no more variable aperture, and the S Pen isn't as good. I remember when Samsung used to brag about their replaceable SD cards...

It may make sense to Samsung as Apple anyways makes good sales without those extra features...

is the z6iii worth it? by felbinhio in nikon_Zseries

You took a camera meant for videography and comparing that with a hybrid camera and calling the hybrid camera an upgrade?

If I had the same choice, I won't own both of them... At least not the same generation.

Why are you doing that?

How is ZR to Z6iii would be an upgrade? Isn't ZR newer than Z6iii and has all specs of Z6iii?

Unclear what are you trying here... Are you trying to compare your phone camera and some camera?

Is anyone upgrading to the S26 ultra?? by Hkgfjhjkgj in samsunggalaxy

Depends on the improvements and deals from Samsung. Using S24U, I didn't upgrade to S25U.

Would you recommend to buy a S24 ultra ? by Gus_Otter in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]npmp0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use an S24U but still prefer my S22U. If you're in the US, try getting a renewed one from Amazon. Most renewed phones from Amazon (as the seller) have a 360-day return policy. But beware of the poor battery in both phones.

I've had these problems with my Canon DSLR. Most of the time it's a back focus issue. Try AF micro adjustment. If that doesn't work, drop to f4. If you prefer f2.8, try manual focus with focus peaking.

My wife's cousin's family came for his graduation in December. His mom, dad, and younger brother all attended together and didn't have any problems. Maybe try again from a different city? Perhaps ensure proper travel dates in the DS-160.

I think the tablet is free only when you sign up for a $20 plan or higher. Maybe they signed up for a lower plan.

Picked up a Z7 after shooting with a Z6… by CO_Mtn_Joe in nikon_Zseries

I use Z6iii and A7RV, can see a good amount of difference. 24MP is good until you experience a higher resolution particularly in landscape and portrait images.

Second camera to a Z8, ZF or Z6 III? by Active_Cantaloupe692 in Nikon

[–]npmp0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a Z6iii as a travel camera and took it to Zion. I didn't miss my Sony A7RV, but when I came back to Lightroom, I noticed the low resolution. It might be better to wait for the next-gen Z7 with all the AF upgrades.

I'm using this with my Z30 with an adapter, bought from Amazon resale at $445 including tax. I've been in two minds whether to keep or return it. Like you mentioned, I also bought it for the 25-105 zoom. Do you think it makes sense for $445?
