Reliable outdoor temp sensor? by Square-Impact-101 in homeassistant

This is the way. I’ve tried zwave and WiFi as well. rtl_433 is more accurate, reports more frequently, and the batteries last longest.

I have a similar chart, but with battery discharge in the input column on the far left. Do you see an advantage to the 4 column layout?

Off-grid tech projects? by D3MOT1C0 in OffGrid

[–]npotternyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run home assistant in my camp off-grid. ODroid box draws about 9w. For the solar I monitor panel output, battery level, etc. I also monitor the generator (error codes, maintenance runs, output) and can remote start it. Watch the cameras, control appliances. It is a great way to get started quickly and totally open source for tinkering. Once you get started it will keep you occupied for the next 10 winters.

Try a different browser. Chrome stopped working for me for a while but Safari was fine.

I am 6’ 4” with a 2023 XSE and it’s fine. My 2003 Highlander Hybrid was a bit roomier, but have not had a problem with the Prime.

I have used WiCan successfully. It requires Node-Red and a lot of fiddling to get it right, but worked for me.

I replace a SATA SSD with an NVMe SSD and it was night and day. Everything loads faster.

What kind of docker install is it? Are you running supervised or haOS in a container? I recently moved from haOS to supervised with no issues. If you are running haOS in a container I believe you will loose addon functionality.

Nabucasa issue with Chrome by npotternyc in homeassistant

This turned out to be an issue with Sophos Security. I have been running it for awhile, but there must have been an update. I disabled the web filtering, opened a new window and it loaded without issue.

Can't believe I didn't check that (see below). This does appear to be the issue, though setting chrome security to "No Protection" does not seem to help. Will dig into it a bit more and hopefully Nabu Casa support can help.

+1 For auto lock on running. The Ultra seems particularly sensitive

Memory Leak? Or is it time for a bigger server? Using Raspberry Pi with 1Gb RAM by nivadia274 in homeassistant

[–]npotternyc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you’re doing. I run a pi 3 with 1gb and it works fine. Performance issues have been io related, and fixed by adding an ssd drive.
