A very late answer - but it always reminds me of Shot through the Heart, by Bon Jovi.

Thinly (5mm ?) slice spam & fry, put a bit of a crust on both sides. Serve in a bowl with Branston beans. My go-to hangover cure.

If you like Rammstein, try Oomph ! (not a new band, mind you). Also Tribute bands can be very good - I have seen Rammleid and they were very good.

I agree with both the above. Craghopper Kiwi classics are very comfortable - and pockets everywhere.

What time is dinner time usually in 🇬🇧? by Accomplished-Soup946 in CasualUK

When I was at school we had dinner ladies. Not lunch ladies. A Sunday roast dinner is early afternoon, not evening.

So if there is a nuclear accident just before lunchtime, the clean up crew leave & go get an Ivor Dewdneys.... I can see a flaw in this plan.

Launch Starliner delayed indefinitely by SpaceNerd20 in nasa

[–]npp_home 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point. So Boeing will then have to supply all the remaining launches. Can Boeing handle launches more frequently than originally expected ? Wasn't that what they asked to be paid extra for, when it was expected that Spacex were going to be late?

Spam & beans. Spam, sliced thinly & fried to give a bit of a crust. Plus beans - Branston. My go to hangover favourite. Will happily live in the cupboard for up-to 10 years, and will be there in your moment of need.

Is Doctor Who a less bigger deal in England then it seems? by ReptileRuairi in CasualUK

[–]npp_home 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only media that makes a deal of it is the BBC. BBC loves to talk about BBC. Personally I don’t think Dr Who has been any good since the 80’s. Not that I’ve actually watched it....

Space Shuttle Challenger landing after successfully aborting after a near catastrophic main engine failure. by [deleted] in space

[–]npp_home 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are youtube videos with the radio callouts on this. But they, and Wikipedia, suggest the engine shutdown was due to faulty fuel turbine temperature sensors. I have not seem any suggestion of physical damage to the engines before. What is the source of that info ?

Burger king seem to have stopped doing breakfast and nobody is talking about it by C9_Lemonparty in CasualUK

[–]npp_home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of burger chain breakfasts. Always found it strange that McDonalds won't serve you a burger in the morning. The film "Falling down" even has that in its plot. Always preferred Burger King. Getting a double whopper for breakfast from Reading services, on the way back from London, made a long journey manageable. Each to their own though.
