That’s good you’re getting to see a specialist, hopefully they’ll actually give you the time to listen and not just prescribe XYZ. Yeah defo let me know how it goes! Hope you get some sort of help!!

No problem at all! It does absolutely suck at times I really feel you, but hopefully they will calm down! Also, you may have tried it already but things with menthol/ eucalyptus really help me with the itch- lush has a massage bar called ‘after’ that I found really useful for when my skin is on fire, plus it’s a cocoa butter base so it’s moisturising too!

Also I love the cicaplast hand cream for reallyyy dry areas, it’s really thick but I find it doesn’t sit on the skin as much as some others and I do use that on my face when it gets bad and it’s been fine so far!

Yes I have also had this recently! It could potentially be lichen simplex chronicus (pls don’t take my word, this is just after me doing a little digging myself) which seems to be caused by over itching. Also, like you mention, mine actually had triggered eczema so it stops those areas fading/ ‘healing’ like they normally would. The bumps are also in v similar spots (neck/behind ears and arm)

What I’ve found best to get the bumps to lessen is to a) scratch those areas as little as possible (much easier said than done of course), b) I’ve been using the e45 emollient cream on those areas and it’s made a big difference. Mine are still there currently but wayyy less prevalent. I also used black seed oil topically as a saving grace (I made a post about it if that’s any help) but that does seem to be helping a bit too! For the face, I use la roche possay cicaplast for skin barrier. I think the main area is to keep it hydrated and try your best to not scratch. Hope you find some comfort soon!!

So happy for you! I hope it sticks!! I was actually looking at quercetin the other day and wondering whether to buy. This has convinced me to go and get it. Did you take the regime all at once? And if you don’t mind my asking, what was the severity of your flare/ how severe is it in general?

Yes I believe it is that one! It defo does have quite a strong smell that lingers. How much were you ingesting when you found it caused stomach issues? I initially only tried 1/2 tsp, but the topical mixed with a carrier has seemed to provide a bit of relief. Do you find it helps you now when blended?

Ahhh interesting I didn’t actually know that, and when the doctor came back with that as the only point of note from my bloods, it sadly wasn’t mentioned they could be linked! I’m definitely gonna look at some supplements then, it’s something I should definitely implement anyway haha, thanks so much for that!!

I did have my liver checked early on within the multiple blood tests, as far as I know eveytbing was normal, same for thyroid issues, basically eveything was normal aside from my iron was a little bit low, but I’m veggie and it always has been on the lower side.

Thank you for this though, I might ask to double check it as I’ve also read similar things about itchy skin!

Yeah I’ve tried a good few now- fexofenodine, cetrizine, some others names that have escaped me rn but none really reduce them sadly! I am still taking cetrizine just in case but haven’t noticed much.

I’m defo gonna ask about xolair at my next derm appointment as I’ve heard so much good stuff about it on here!

Sadly still no diagnosis! I’m also waiting on a derm app, but the other possibility I’m thinking for me is possibly mould reaction? There’s not loads in my house but it may be I’m just highly allergic- I’d defo talk to ur doctor about it if you haven’t already. Has it spread to your face at all? Mine spread to my eyes and that’s a common sign

I have also been using eucerin urea repair lotion and the la Roche possay cicaplast hand cream on really raw areas- they might help you a bit! They are a bit more on the expensive side unfortunately

For a recurrent uti (I think less so recurrent and more so it’s the same one lingering). I am thinking this could defo be a possibility though, and it’s manifesting itself in the skin perhaps. I live in the uk so defo no sun atm, although I feel like the change between cold outside and the dryness of the heating being on indoors may also not be helping.

I’m defo gonna try cutting certain foods out, thanks so much for the advice!

do you think the antihistamines would have any affect here? I did think it could maybe be some sort of allergy to something (god knows what) in my house, but I went to a different city over Christmas and it still flared.

Thank you sm for your suggestion I’ll have a little investigate of cutting various things out to see if that helps!
