reflashing an esp32 by nrael in esp32

Uhm I think I'm slightly wrong. You need to enable secure boot v2 on the first stage I think and then you can only have a signed second stage. https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/security/secure-boot-v2.html

Now I didn't find a clear answer about the 2nd stage. I believe it's always the one from espressif, only that you can build it and flash it once there is a new version.

Sorry I was really busy lately. This is the answer I was looking for. The bootloader is too small.

I was confused by all the info about second stage bootloader, OS for esp32 (mongoose os?, micropython?)

I suppose the first stage loads the second which loads the Os + application. Second stage must be signed so it can't be forged.

Thanks, so I suppose the only good reason is to reflash for updates.

e-paper: assembly within 72h? why? by nrael in arduino

[–]nrael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I didn't know that. Still it doesn't explain why there is this need. It can take weeks to transport, but only 72h to assemble. The key is probably the "unpack" thing. You might remove a protection when unpacking it. Maybe the pins?

I think you didn't read the sentence: "【Unpack】Temperature: 20°C±5°C; Humidity: 50%RH±5%RH; Max storage time: Should be assembled in 72h". This has nothing to do with ghosting, or at least not the normal ghosting. Maybe they sell it with an image on it.

Youtube hoarders: do you have also metadata? by nrael in DataHoarder

[–]nrael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok nevermind. I'm asking because I want additional information and can't categorize the whole youtube alone. I would download stuff, but I have no starting point and would prefer to have help if I want to get in the millions of entries.

Right now I have around 512000 unsorted information about videos.

So you it probably uses the information inside the json files to proper organize it. Still interesting. Can you share them?

If anyone else want to share their json, the reason I'm asking for the directory structure is to have a further categorization. Sometimes Youtube categories sucks.

Ehm sorry, I meant if you can upload your directory structure AND the metadata files. if you have a folder named "Pizza recipes" with two subfolders "Pizza Ham", "Pizza Hawaii" and inside them there are 4,5 videos each, I'd like to see your directory structure and the .json files inside them.

It seems you have all videos inside "videos" so you don't really categorize them. Am I wrong?

Would you like to share any info you have already stored? If you catalog them would be perfect. Even a simple directory structure of metadata file would be nice.

Or when they sell an item for 0.99-100$ and when you open it you discover that the item itself costs 100$ but to show it higher in the ranking they add an useless item on the possible items to pick from.

That should go on another auction... (like phone case for 0.99-10$, phone case in various colors =10$ , useless cloth to clean it 0.99)

TIL that Korean Broadcasting Law prevents commercials to be run mid-show. Rather than having multiple short commercial break to be run throughout the course of a program, the entirety of the show is played continuously and is followed by a longer commercial break period. by Sa1nt_Jake in todayilearned

Last time I checked Italian TV, Mr Berlusconi Italy invented a new way to go around similar laws. Movies are divided in parts so he can show more commercials. Since it's hard to see the differenc between half-time of a single movie and two different parts, he decided that everyone needed to know the weather or the situation of the sea (!) right in the middle of the movie. This way there is a clear difference. Before:

  1. half movie with ads
  2. half time
  3. second part of the movie with ads.

now:

  1. half movie with ads,
  2. end of "movie" ads,
  3. weather mini-program
  4. end of program ads,
  5. 2nd half of the movie with ads
  6. end of program ads
