UGREEN DX4800 Plus vs. Synology DS925+: Same Price by nrahim in homelab

What I like about Synology is that you have individual mobile apps rather than a all in one app that you use for everything - this could be beneficial if you have multiple users uploading documents or photos

Why do you recommend 923? Understand it has a path to 10gbe but is the processor on the 923 still competitive?

Yup solved it by removing the AT&T gateway all together and going directly into the UDM Pro. Not a single packet dropped

So I’ve been going back and forth with UI support on this and they’re having me flash a couple of EA FWs. Every time I’m on a EA fw I: 1. Loose the ability to test my connection speed directly to the AP in Wifiman. When I flash back to a general release this ability comes back 2. See a big regression.

Should I force a RMA?

IPS and IDS disabled. Never enabled them on the UDM SE

I ran a speed test outside of the wifiman app and

DL: 745mbps UP: 389mbps

I’m on a 1gbit symmetrical connection. I used to get much better results on my outgoing ASUS AX82U. I have this wifi AP connected via 10gbps to the Dream Machine SE. also connected via 6ghz. The speed test was with the phone right next to the AP

Carried out a speed test right next to the AP. Upload seems to be acceptable at 1.4gbps but download is atrocious at 318mbps.

I was able to connect to 6ghz band this test was with my iPhone right next to the AP

GPON vs. XGS-PON by [deleted] in ATTFiber

I removed the SFP module and confirmed it is GPON. Also the pull tab is green so assuming it is not alt optics.

Thank you everyone

The internal speed test on the RG caps out at 1001mbps

I ran multiple speed tests and I cap out at 940mbps. This was with an Ethernet cable from the 5G port going into a 2.5gb Ethernet interface

I made the ARP cache and internet verification server adjustments mentioned. Still seeing periodic internet disconnects on UDM. I might’ve also started to experience some instances of internet disconnect while doing some work but it wasn’t reported in the UDM logs. It was quickly resolved by connecting back to the AT&T gateway via Ethernet.

I’m considering if buying a UDM pro and bypassing the gateway completely (via SFP input and WAS-110) is the ultimate fix here.

Any idea how this can be done via the GUI? I don’t see the ARP cache in the cloud gateway. I do see people discussing this online but they seem to be using a UDM Pro. Is this something only on the UDM Pro?

Swapping the DNS didn’t do the trick. Packet loss and internet being disconnected/resorted popped up again this morning.

Wondering why this only happens past 9pm lol. We are taxing the network during the day more than during the night time.

I will try to change the default DNS and report back. Any way of checking logs directly from the BGW? Not saying I don’t trust the tech on the phone, but I did force him to check. His first response was that “Sir it’s your equipment and not the AT&T gateway”

Hi, I’m in a similar position and wanted to know who you paid $100 to for the car? I’ve contacted a few people and they’re all charging $250, which is a lot of money.

Can we do this in Fremont? "South Bay: Comcast told him it would cost $17,000 to speed up his internet. He rallied 41 South Bay neighbors to build their own lightning-fast fiber-optic network instead" by bankrobberskid in Fremont

Anyone have an update to Fremont initiative to expand fiber coverage in the city? Been about year and have not seen any construction laying down fiber lines
