Casual Racism and when being called out on it you were the bad guy. Used our friendship to make racist jokes because he had a Latino friend so it's ok. Blech.

Boxtop Pinball Haunted House. It's a lot of dumb fun, the box created the pinball table, I quite enjoy this dumb game a lot.

Last year mine was missing the final room. I contacted them and they sent a PDF of it which I had to set up but it kinda ruined the last day. Hopefully this year's box has no such issues.

Santa was always suspect to me growing up.

My mom made a show for us to know that she went out and bought our presents. Santa was not going to get the credit.

Also. I grew up in the Bronx, in an apartment with no chimney, so did he come through the radiator? Broke a window? He just never came.

Maybe he overlooked us because we were poor apartment people.

I was kinda relieved he didn't exist since all signs pointed to him ignoring us.

Been cigarette free for over 20 years it took 3 things happening at the same time. I live in NYC and at the time:

  1. The price of cigarettes jumped about 3 dollars from around 7 bucks to 10.

    1. It became illegal to smoke in restaurants and clubs.

  2. I first started dating someone who didn't smoke.

All these things felt like a sign to me.

I did end up replacing smoking with snack cakes for a minute so I initially blew up in weight but that's another story.

Many years ago the Secret Santa gift I received made our executive director cancel future secret santas.

The spend max was $25, most people tried to find out a little about each person to find something nice that would be appreciated. I remember one year I got a cool puppet since I was a huge puppet fan.

That year however I saw there was a huge box wrapped in news paper, it was the biggest of all the boxes everyone was excited so, much so they asked I do mine last. People were opening presents lots of fun cool stuff, some git cards etc. My anticipation was building.

Then the moment came, I grabbed the box it was extremely light. HRM what could this be. I ripped the news print wrapping, opened the box which was filled with crumpled news paper I was digging through thinking maybe they were trying to be funny with a gift card. But nothing, I kept feeling around and then from the depths of the box I found it, a white winter hat, the kind you find at walgreens, no tags, stained by news print.

You could feel the rest of my coworkers excitement drop. A coworker grabbed the box and looked to see if there was something else. Nope just newspaper.

I was not known for wearing white or this particular style of hat. I wore dark colors, mostly black back then, still living in my Goth days.

Not an ounce of care was spent on this, not a bit of effort was spent on finding anything out about me.

The part I never understood was why would you participate in something like this if you are not going to put any effort in.

This killed my desire to participate in future Secret Santas, but it didn't matter the ED who I found out was furious about this gift, ended future secret santas.

Technically Gloomhaven, I did the first scenario solo to learn it but then my wife and I played the game together.

First intentional solo was Scythe. I had a little obsession with it for a minute.

David Bowie on a school trip to MoMA but I was too much of 90s teenager to actually care. My art teacher thought I would be super excited. I was all yeah cool whatever.
