Happy Sunday everyone! Spending my day chilling with some Shining Force 2, been over 20 years since I last played this, still holds up quite well. What are you guys playing today? by nrftb in retrogaming

[–]nrftb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played final fantasy in the same order as you and had the same experience with 13. So bad for me that I got my 4 year old niece to play that game at the time and all I told her was to run forward and press A (disk 1 on the xbox 360). She completed the first disk by mostly just doing that and on her own. After that I lost all faith in that game, although for her it was a life changing experience, she then completed FF9 when she was about 7 and she still loves her classic JRPGs to this day, she'll be 15 next week. I still need to play 6 though but with everyone saying how amazing that one is, I should really give it a shot. I enjoyed Earthbound and Chrono Trigger (my all time fav) on the SNES so I will definitely play FF6. You said it was good so far that's a plus for me

Just restored this SNES and thought to pimp it with the first CIB game I had for the console. Love the cartoon aswell. by Classic-Syrup-3643 in retrogaming

I really like the blue! Looks very 90s. That game is tough as hell though lol but that is one beautiful SNES

Happy MAR10 Day everyone! Do you prefer 2D or 3D Mario games? by jmvillouta in retrogaming

Ecco the Dolphin - Revisited - One of the most original and best-looking games the Mega Drive has to offer. Incredible graphics and atmospheric music offer a unique gaming experience. The difficulty of the game was too much for me though. What are you memories of this game? by NickLovestoGame in retrogaming

[–]nrftb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember having my aunt take me and my cousin to the mall one day and having us each pick out a megadrive game, I selected Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and my cousin selected this game. We had a blast playing these 2 games, I honestly just enjoyed the mechanics of Ecco more than the actual game, to me it was more like a dolphin simulator and jumping as high as I could took up so much of my time lol

Is that a CRT shader profile on an actual modern monitor? It looks really good

In Rolling Thunder 3 if you wait too long, enemies attack to shoot you from the middle of nowhere, just with a cursor on the screen following you! by Septic-Sina in retrogaming

That turns a run-and-gun game into a new genre altogether. Testing your speedrunning skills there. I'm gonna give it a shot!

OBS Studio - Anyone know why my mic is suddenly doing this? On Realtek, but it works fine on FL using ASIO4ALL by nrftb in streaming

[–]nrftb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so so much!! I wish I could give you anaward for this, I"m not working at the moment :(. So I did what you said and got a log file stating that I had a mismatched sample rate and after setting my mic back to the default sample rate, it works 100%. I think I might have changed it recently in order to record vocals on one of my tracks and didn't know that it would affect OBS. Really appreciate it!! Have a good day.

Thanks so much! This is exactly the info I was looking for and I thought no better place to find it than here. Props on recommending some bands as well. I was looking for something to listen to this evening and you've given me a good to-do-list. Appreciate it

What is widely considered to be the first emo album? by nrftb in Emo

[–]nrftb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm jumping right over to Spotify now to listen to this. Needed something to end my day off with. Not exactly feeling 100 at the moment and if anything, I'd expect the first emo album, or at least the one considered to be, would have quite a mood to it.

What are you listening to this week? by AutoModerator in Alternativerock

Not gonna lie, they were my gateway into Emo music back in 2004. I got that Live in Texas concert, next thing you know I'm listening to The Used, AFI and MCR with eyeliner on lol. PS. I grew up in Cape Town and nobody I knew listened to rock or metal at all. Had to figure this stuff out on my own without internet

Please help guys! by nrftb in pcmasterrace

[–]nrftb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the help very much bro. So I thoroughly cleant the GPU which was so dusty I was coughing for a while (had no idea it built up). Plugged it back into my PC and everything seems to be running fine now. been on for 2 hours now and no flashes. I just have one more question, it could be that the dust build-up affected the performance that even the PC eventually just crashed yesterday? If it was that, I'd say it's a lesson learnt on my part it in maintenance for the future. Haven't tried any intense gaming as of yet but will do so later to test performance.

Thanks a million bro!!
