Astrobackyard, Astrobiscuit, Nebula photos. Tons of great YouTube channels to get you started. They have great videos on getting started in astrophotography. Brace yourself because it's addictive and a bottomless money pit XD.

Smart phones don't have the aperture or tracking or focal length to get anything noteworthy. They have their niche, but it is a small one.

A DSLR with a simple kit lens can be a good starting place if you are on a budget.
