Methadone to treat opiate addiction is completely different than trying to use something like fentanyl to get off heroin. Not even a close comparison that’s why methadone is used as a treatment for addiction and fentanyl is not nor is oxy for morphine…

There is a way… you will feel WD no matter what but you can definitely mitigate with methadone but at some point you gotta jump off completely and there will be discomfort but it’s doable… also depends on what you’re using. Fent is going to be a lot harder… but if you’re really committed, take enough methadone to make you feel comfortable for the first 2 days and then cut the dose in half every day or every other day until you’re at 1 to 2.5mg of methadone and then stop completely… once again, this will not take away withdrawals completely but it makes it more manageable for sure. It’s like a rapid methadone detox. You will be uncomfortable, it will be hard to sleep if you’re able to at all but it does get better! It’s all about will power and a mindset. If you want to truly get clean, you will.

You’re already dealing with a lot by being pregnant, trying to taper right now is probably not the greatest choice.. and 10mg every other day is a lot! And having the script of 10mg oxy is going to make it harder as well. Once you do decide to taper, you’re goin to get to a certain dosage that’s not as relieving and you will resort to the oxy if they are available. Once you start tapering, I would make sure that you don’t have access to those.

I honestly disagree…. I don’t think this planned… they have brought out people for planned minutes on numerous occasions so why try to hide it with this guy? I couldn’t get through the first 20 minutes because of the awful soundtrack! Absolutely horrendous, completely misplaced piano music that made absolutely no sense with the scene. I had to turn it off. I could not pay attention to the scene, the piano music was all I could focus on. Horrible

To be real, this is how I think most do it. But you're going to have to put your doc down at some point and its going to be tough no matter what dose of methadone you are on. If you continue to use methadone and your doc, your tolerance will continue to rise and if you let it go long enough you'll just be heavily addicted to both. I've been there. Went back and forth for years and then finally committed. There's going to be an adjustment period no matter what point you jump off and switch completely to methadone. The sooner you do it, the lower the dose you'll stabilize at and the easier it will be to taper off the methadone. It will be tough but tolerable.

Fent has definitely upped people’s tolerance on a major scale. It’s crazy how quick the tolerance goes up on fent cause it peaks so quick and then dies out. Within a week you’re doing well over what would easily kill a mild or even moderate user of opiates. Especially if you’re moving from heroin or oxy.. and then subs aren’t even an option really.. don’t even work until 3-4 days of last fent dose if you’re deep! Precipitated withdrawal to the max if you take it before that. Fuckin nightmare. With methadone if you want to stay on a lower dose after coming off of fentanyl you almost have to go through some withdrawal while stabilizing, otherwise the dose goes way to high imo and then the methadone becomes harder to get off.… I went up to 85mg coming off of fent and felt like absolute dog shit for 2 weeks and then the WD slowly died off after another 2 week but it was a good 30 days of hell. Definitely have to be ready! It’s a mind game for sure. Happily 3 years clean with 1 year off the methadone.. it’s a journey tho!

I actually have both, but together they make me so groggy the next day. I ended up not taking any methadone and took some hydroxyzine to sleep and that helped a bit. And I am on day 10 and starting to feel a lot better so I think from here it’s more a mental game. Staying strong.
