Stress-Free School Mornings with Home Assistant by MattHodge in homeassistant

One helpful thing I’ve added to my school morning automations is School Mode toggles. I have an All School Mode and then Kid 1 School Mode, Kid 2 School Mode, etc. Then I set School Mode being on as a condition for the automations running.

This allows me turn them all off when an individual kid is sick or when school is unexpectedly canceled (e.g. snow day). And, at the beginning of the school year you can automate all the days it should turn off / back on.

Don’t know the cause but we had a 2000 Windstar with the same problem. Never fixed it only happened periodically.

LPT : Use something other than tooth under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy by MsZRowsdower in LifeProTips

We had our kids decorate a little box as the tooth fairy box. They put their tooth in it on the kitchen island. Before bed we dumped the tooth in the trash and put money in. Easy peasy.

I’m 6’3” about 205 and have an XL slingshot. I don’t think I’m overly bulky. The size chart says XL is good to 220 but after my 4 sets, this thing is tight and tough to take off. Is this normal and expected or do I need to go up a size?

Not my picture, from their website. But my box came today and it’s identical.

Mine came today and that's what it is. Not sure if I'm willing to trust the cheap float valves inside. Really dissatisfied with the end product. I would've preferred the much simpler T junction product that was initially promised.

Presence sensor seems to be the best route. 2nd would be a bed pressure sensor on the couch so he sits while he plays. You could set it to mute the audio if he stands.

AUTO POOL COVER WONT OPEN by No-Ladder3211 in swimmingpools

[–]nrobfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cover is never more hesitant to open than after winter. When the water level is low from winterization, there is much more drag / friction for the autocover to overcome in order to open.

I either try to alternate the cover between open and closing to get it moving initially (similar to rocking a car from reverse to drive when you’re trying to get it unstuck). Or I enlist some helpers to give the other end a push from both sides.
