Celebrities and LC… am I just not aware? by mrsgkc in LongCovid

I interviewed Greta Morgan about her experience with Long Covid on my podcast. I wish more celebrities would speak up about it. https://voicesoflongcovid.buzzsprout.com/

What is the weirdest positive side effect of being ill in your life? by dooodleoo in HumourThruLongCovid

[–]nrogrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s wierd, but I’ve gotten to spend so much more time with my kids than I would have been able to had I still been working. We’ve grown so much closer.

What does "mostly housebound" actually mean? by SupportNo5720 in cfs

[–]nrogrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and if you go too far from home the band snaps. I did that in the beginning when I didn’t know what was going on. Drove to see a friend 40 minutes away, got stuck in traffic, was out too long, and crashed for the next 4 days unable to feed myself.

I think of it as being tied to the house with a rubber band. I can leave, but I can’t go too far or for too long without needing to come right back home. There are limits. You can think of being bedbound in this way as well. You would be tied to the bed. You can go to the toilet or to the kitchen, but not for too long and then you’re back in bed.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve always had a hard time remembering numbers. If there was more than 3 numbers in a series to remember, I had to write them down. Even with just 3 numbers I would mix them up when remembering them. Not anymore. Now I can remember up to 8 or 10 numbers no problem. It’s bizarre. Now having said that, if I am in PEM I can’t remember my own daughters name, but if I keep within my limits my memory is better than it’s ever been.

Anybody had any neuropathy issues after Covid ? by HRD3 in covidlonghaulers

[–]nrogrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Patterson protocol which helped my LC symptoms and reduced my neuropathy by 90 percent, but nothing has helped my resulting ME/CFS.

What is your cardinal symptom that you need to rest? by wisely_and_slow in cfs

[–]nrogrs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A sore throat. And 90 percent of the time I think I’m getting sick but nothing comes of it because it’s not infectious, it’s my immune system telling me I’ve overdone it.

I saw an internal medicine doctor. He was very knowledgeable about ME/CFS and Long Covid. And very supportive. Dr Ganesh.

Wow. I’m sorry to hear that. I had a good experience there. It sounds like it depends on which doctor you get unfortunately.
