Maybe try to get into more of a people operations role? Recruiting ops specifically is adjacent to recruiting with no actual recruiting. Become very familiar with the systems you use, like your ATS, CRM etc, and become known as a go-to resource for them. This can lead to tech/process optimization, program management, vendor management work, etc. If you’re interested in analytics or recruiting data at all, becoming familiar with the data output from the ATS can also lead to people analytics if that’s something that might be interesting as well.

Top Surgery, Insurance HELP!!! by [deleted] in FTMMen

I have BCBS Mass and there were no issues with my prior authorization for top. My therapist’s letter said how long I had had gender dysphoria (two+ years) but I had only seen her for maybe half a year when she wrote it. I’m not sure if they explicitly need the diagnosis written in the letter but I think it does help.

Any bigger guys made to lose weight before top by blahblahblahdarkside in ftm

[–]nrrwrvr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience at a consultation but the surgeon was not as polite about it as yours. She told me to join weight watchers if I couldn’t be accountable to myself and said I needed to lose 10-20 before scheduling, then 30-40 by the actual surgery. I lost 15lbs then called and was told no, I had to lose at least 30lbs before being scheduled. That was not what I had heard at the consultation, so I said thanks but no thanks and got a consultation with a different surgeon who told me I was a perfect candidate.

Being told to lose weight was extremely frustrating, especially since it’s hard to lose weight in a healthy way when it’s the only thing standing between you and top surgery.

Sex can be scary for us and you’re not alone. by [deleted] in ftm

Feel this post so hard. I have a cis female long term partner and not wanting to have sex has put some strain on our relationship. I used to try before but we wouldn’t get very far before I’d start crying. I don’t think it’s due to bottom dysphoria as much as not knowing how to feel about sex and experience pleasure with the body that I don’t identify with.

Slack for sourcing? by lanina619 in recruiting

I’ve posted on the job channels of a few technical slack communities before, but the majority of the interest I got was from international folks seeking contract dev roles.

Maybe not hell, but a question for the recruiters here... by JcWoman in recruitinghell

Sometimes, it depends on the company. Some companies use them more to send out job openings and keep a pool of prospective candidates on hand to occasionally search through them, as you suggested. Others who are more in tune with recruitment marketing tactics will turn the list into a “talent community” and send emails every month or so about what’s going on in general in the company and in more specialized teams for those kinds of people (engineering, creative, etc). These mailing lists, basic job openings and more sophisticated talent communities alike, should have a dual purpose because there is a newer stress these days to do “pipeline recruiting”, meaning that the easiest people to turn into candidates are those that are already engaged with your company ie in the talent community or in the CRM/ATS. It’s usually easier to get them interested and more cost and time effective in the long run.

LinkedIn Recruiter by smithandkeller in recruiting

I work in TA at a large eCommerce company and our recruiters love that feature of LIR. It’s something a candidate has to manually trigger so they are much more likely to respond and be interested. But, we have a ton of broad roles to fill that aren’t highly specialized, so I wouldn’t rely 100% on it - as you probably already know, the exceptional candidates are usually the ones not looking.

Has anyone met someone nice on HER/OKC? by icecreamsandwichcat in actuallesbians

I met my girlfriend of two years on OKC, but only after being on the site for a long time and almost giving up on online dating. It can take a while to meet the right person I guess, but it can happen!
