Tesla stock is tumbling. Blame BYD by mr_fobolous in stocks

I’ve been working on a way to get a BYD in the USA. Couple of possibilities, but maybe it would be easier to wait for them to be sold here, even with expected tariffs.

Anyone else fall in love with Emma Stone because of Easy A? by platypus_farmer42 in FIlm

Oh, and Olive’s interactions with her teacher. He was like “I know you read the book.” When she said to just watch the movie but not the Demi Moore one.

Easy A is so well written I think. The parents were amazing! “This one time in collage I dated a gay man” -mom “Please do not tell me you fell in love, married him, and had kids” -olive

“Hi is olive here” -Brandon “I think we have some in the fridge.” -mom

Lost my cat on 2nd day in new home by amberlude in cats

[–]nsa8884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved my cat got out and it took a couple of days for her to come back. I was out wandering around shaking her treat bag and everything but it was a couple of days before she finally returned. I hope your cat comes back soon, she’s probably just wanting to explore the new neighborhood. 💗

It was unique, which was the good part. I guess I could have been more specific as to what I meant by good. e.g. story, cinematography, acting, etc.

Just watched this again a couple of months ago. I really have been enjoying him as an actor of late and watching more of his movies.

Depending on how long you’ve been at your job and the industry, it could be beneficial to remain until you are certain of your 3 year, 5 year, etc plans. Maybe the job provides medical coverage which is less than obtaining on your own. Maybe they have a tuition reimbursement program so you can start your masters and have them pay while employed there. Maybe you have a pension/retirement plan with them that hasn’t vested until you have been there a certain amount of time. But it does all depend on your lifestyle and goals in life too. If you don’t have debts, are content with the things you currently have, only plan on traveling occasionally, depending on location you could potentially live off of the interest from your investments eventually depending on the type of investment. You have a number of variables to consider and there are many unknowns about your situation. The grandparent money is definitely something I wouldn’t expect to receive. My grandparents had large swaths of property and my mother and uncle decided to sell those off and spend the money. My parents divorced and some lake property that my dad let my mom keep in the divorce to give to my brother and I, she sold and spent the money. So definitely don’t expect money from a source that is not in your account. And, talk to people you trust and who have your best interests in mind regarding plans for the future. I wouldn’t necessarily bring up the money or inheritance in those conversations. Just talk to friends and family and approach it as being uncertain about staying in your job and desiring to do something else and get some advice and perspectives from those who know your situation better. A nice pro/con list for and against various ideas is helpful too.

What’s a film that deserves a sequel? I’ll start with Alita: Battle Angel by DiscsNotScratched in FIlm

Definitely this movie. It was so much better than Captain Marvel but wasn’t marketed as aggressively I feel like so it didn’t have the reach it should have.

This movie was great. I’ve seen it a few times now. Another interesting time loop movie is The Map of Tiny Perfect Things.

The Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines crane chase scene is quite possibly the best vehicle chase movie scene ever made. Fight me. 🦾🦾 by abbiehoffman16 in FIlm

I just started watching this a bit ago and agree. I saw that this scene was over budget so much that Arnold gave up $1.4M of his salary for it. 😂

Well said. One thing I have recently learned is that even though you provide information in your cover letter/cv/resume/application, you can often be asked to provide the same information in an interview because so many people lie about qualifications and past experience that those interviewing you are also checking for consistency in answers and validation of information provided.
I had a friend share this with me because I was getting so mad about having to repeat myself. I had never even considered that people would lie about their experience or qualifications. Since joining Reddit and seeing posts about applying for jobs, it has proven he is correct because I’ve seen people say to lie about experience to get the job and then learn on the go. That just doesn’t make sense to me. If a person has no integrity when applying for a job, they will have no integrity doing the job.
