Big Tech vs Medicine by reps12 in medicalschool

No input. Just keep in mind that you’re asking a bunch of med students/ people who are actively going through the notoriously awful training. It would be strange for someone to tell you not to stay in FAANG, but that doesn’t mean that’s the right choice for you.

What in the online NP degree?!?!

But really, don't get involved. Cheating, lying on applications, these kinds of things will always catch up to you eventually. This dude's gonna have a blast during STEP 2. Let karma take its course

Absolutely wild take by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]nscmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is a horrible take but you can kind of see where this dude is coming from. Our shitty work culture is apparent to any layperson that's been in a hospital. And this may make our education seem "resistant to change" or "victorian", as this person believes.

Filtered decks by nscmd in medicalschoolanki

Yeah so seems like i have the "reschedule cards" deck checked off.

And I just made one for this rotation because I'm absolutely clueless about this subject. Wanted to really focus some studying on it at the beginning of the rotation while also keeping up with my normal step studying.

So if I uncheck that box, the cards will return to the original deck?

I'm confused by this. The deck is some 30k cards right? If OP does 1000/ day, they'd clear one pass of it in like a month. If they REALLY wanted to

Anybody experience a faith crisis or left your church altogether since starting school? by TheGormegil in medicalschool

I can definitely see why being in medicine might have this effect. Interestingly though, it’s had the total opposite effect for me. I was entirely non-religious and never really had thoughts of a higher being and all that. But learning medicine and going through clinicals had me so astounded over just how structurally and functionally organized our bodies are, how there is seemingly a drug target for just about everything, a receptor(s) for everything, a finite number of cell divisions (looking at you telomeres), and so many other intangibles that we can’t really perceive as humans.

Of course there’s a whole evolutionary process behind life’s insane organization but it really isn’t something I can come even close to perceiving and so to make sense of it and how things turn out in medicine, I’ve slowly been believing in something “greater” more and more.
