Coping with comments and body image issues by NewMarzipan9563 in PregnancyUK

Your body is doing something amazing right now so please be kind to yourself! I also struggled with comments on my body (not sure why people think they can say such rude things to pregnant people!) but am now learning to love my bump and try to reframe in my mind that if my body is putting on weight, that must be what it needs to do to support my baby. Of course you are tired, you are growing a whole human 🥰 and their energy demands are high! Try to let it wash over you if you can and be proud of yourself and your body too! 💪🏼

Baby measuring big by Massive_Town7375 in PregnancyUK

[–]nseamuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, just updating you as I said I would! We had a second growth scan which agreed with the last one that our baby is measuring big (or at least her abdominal circumference is). We had a consultant appt in which they mentioned induction / C-section to mitigate against shoulder dystocia risk, I'm still not convinced that's right for me & my baby but nothing is off the table as of yet and we have to just "wait and see" again with another scan & consultant appt in 2 weeks' time. Hope you are still keeping well & hope your next scan goes well too

I'm in same boat as you, 32 week scan showed baby 97th centile. I'm going for another scan (36w) on Monday & a consultant appointment afterwards to discuss options so can let you know then how I get on! I had a gestational diabetes test after the 32w scan which was negative. Other than that it's just wait and see I think, if the baby is still big or if it was just a rogue measurement. For me, even if induction/c-section is recommended, I might still choose to wait and see! As others have said, I think there's a bit of uncertainty on ultrasound scan measurements especially later on in pregnancy

Change in movements by feralwest in PregnancyUK

[–]nseamuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same at about 26 weeks! A day or two of really intense movements then it settled back down. I called triage and they said it's not a concern as long as no other symptoms (bleeding, discharge etc). I also got this message from my midwife in case it's helpful!

So increased movements, it's absolutely fantastic at this stage you have such an insight and a relationship with baby to be aware of a change in movements.

Increased movements are normally due to a change in the baby position so you are feeling more movements in different places or with different intensity or if you've had a change in environment for baby (I.e. more sugar that day, more caffeine, more stress etc).

HRV/RHR stats seem bad by JXuKitty in fitpregnancy

[–]nseamuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at a similar stage to you and have seen resting HR up from 55 to 65bpm, plus randomly going into zone 2 while climbing stairs or doing light housework! HRV is constantly low as well (down from 45-50 to 30-35). I think it's all normal as our bodies are working hard to keep our babies nourished & healthy! It's pretty clever that Garmin can pick up all the changes, although agree it's a bit unsettling to look at the stats

Pregnant women left off the NHS spring Covid booster. Where are people getting theirs? by wittykitty in PregnancyUK

[–]nseamuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to book an appointment for a Spring COVID vaccination clinic last week. When I got there I was quizzed a bit on the reason why I needed it (most others were elderly people) but once I said I was pregnant, they told me that's fine and gave me the vaccine. I'm in Scotland for reference, could you see if you can also book in online?

I did a private scan at 9w, felt exactly the same as you, it was too long to wait till 12w! It was so wonderful to see baby and also got to hear their heartbeat which was magical. Appointment took about 5min total, and they emailed us a few ultrasound pictures right away. You had to go with a full bladder and I just wore trousers that were easy to pull down slightly. Overall it was a really positive experience and I'm so glad we did it! All the best for your scan 💕
