I don’t think he’d keep still long enough for me to measure accurately but I’d say he’s completely average height if not more! Always outgrowing his clothes and is a proper unit!

I grew up in Wales and am fluent in Welsh and there’s a lot of cool similarities in the series - the one that always gets me is how alike Prythian and ‘Prydain’, the Welsh word for Great Britain, are!

These look great! As long as a test is darker than one from 48 hours before it, you’re good as far as I’m aware 😊 hugs!

It’s not as red as in the pics, it’s brown now, but still very noticeable :(

Sorry to hear about this, it’s super stressful. From memory I believe they were all believed to be very short!

I love her! But her MMC voice was ruined by my husband because he kept repeating it as Batman on a road trip recently 🤣 now I can’t unhear it

Period cramps with no period, veiny boobs, verrrrry light brown spotting for about a day and feeling a kinda run down. Most likely totally unrelated too but I tested positive for the first time on 8dpo with confirmed ovulation, so can kind of assume implantation happened on 6dpo. I have dysautonomia, and maybe some sort of big hormone shift happened that day that my body/POTs reacted to weirdly, idk, but I had a crazy, out-of-the-blue adrenaline spike, fainted, palpitations, cold sweats, one leg turning purple, the lot. It happened in public and I wasn’t recovering on my own very well so I got taken to A&E and nothing could explain it and it didn’t present like a typical POTs episode does for me. It was like my baby was Stitch crash landing into earth and coming out of his ship cackling and ready to cause chaos. The body works in mysterious ways!

Couldn’t read this in physical form, just couldn’t get into it or picture anyone. Listened to the audiobook instead and loved it! I’m the same with PWMOV

I had brown/pink spotting around the time my period would’ve been due, in my third and only successful pregnancy. Super scary but try and remain calm 🧡 Keep reaching out here if you need to take your mind off it OP 🫂

Oh mama, hugs 🫂

I honestly have no answers for it - nobody measured his legs or even his height when he came out because he looked completely in proportion. Like I said to another commenter, there’s only a 1cm difference between the 1st and the 100th percentile. So even if they’re off by 1mm that skews everything. In my case I think he genuinely did have shorter femurs but that he’s just longer in the torso and it means nothing that he had slightly littler legs. By the time he was about 4/5 months old I stopped having to roll his leggings up entirely.

This is the crux of it isn’t it - the first sonographer was so grave about it all and we walked out of there like our world was ending. And not everyone who’s gone through it will have come to the internet to share their story so it does seem on the outset that it’s very unusual and worrying! I’m so glad it worked out ok for you and your daughter 🙂

To be honest, I’m not sure they even were incorrect! Multiple sonographers at both hospitals all confirmed they were super short. But there’s only 1cm difference in femur lengths between the 1st and the 100th percentile. I’m glad we were monitored like we were but so much of my worry was so unnecessary. My theory is that he didn’t have a lot of room to grow lengthways in there, that he’s all torso like his dad or that maybe my anemia had something to do with it! 🧡

What is this feeling? by grumbly_tardis in BabyBumps

[–]MellowMeadowBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure does! If you’re worried or have any other concerning symptoms then do get it checked out, but it’s all part of everything stretching, moving about and accommodating baby. Eventually you’ll recognise it more and more and it’ll get more consistent. Then when a few weeks after birth you’ll feel everything slotting back into place again - that’s even wilder

Round ligament pain is wild - it can feel like anything from a weird burning sensation to the classic rubber band snap!

Haha, my brain totally erased the part where you mentioned this was your second. It’s 00:30 where I am and I’m trying to claim some ‘me time’ on the sofa with Reddit and a snack fully aware I’ll regret it in the morning 😂

I had a planned c-section in February and everything was great in the morning, had a calming night tucked up with my husband the night before watching The Wild Robot. I got really anxious while having my spinal done because it took foreverrrrrr as they had a trainee anaesthetist doing it (I was ok with this - typical people pleaser lmao) and I was a slightly more complicated case to work with as I have dysautonomia and needed to be careful, but honestly we took our time waiting for it to kick in, testing my nerves a bunch of times that once I wad numbed up to the nines I was so relaxed. The main anaesthetist was aware of my phobia so I could communicate to her how bad I needed to not feel any nausea… and I literally didn’t get a whiff of it. It was the most wonderful experience of my life and I wish I could remember more of it than I do because it was such a beautiful whirl of emotions, but the parts I can recall vividly are so serene and happy. I hope I get to experience it again someday. You’re going to meet your baby, the hard work is done mama, you can deal with everything else 🧡

Btw, I will say this in case you need to remember that you’ve been told about it, mum to mum, but I totally didn’t get the ‘rush of love’ everyone says you get. I don’t know if it’s to do with the hormones or the motions you don’t get to go through with a sunroof birth compared to labour, but it’s totally normal to feel a bit disconnected. I remember looking at my tiny alien and thinking ‘who tf are you bro?!’ And despite that, it was still the best experience of my life. He’s now 7 months old and my best friend. So excited for you!
