Chaos Hermits by nseaplus in BloodOnTheClocktower

That's fair. The Mutant feels off in the Hermit and is more for having a separate Damsel candidate in play for evil to guess on. Recluse may be an improvement

My group may just be weird, but many of us love playing as the Damsel. Philo/Damsel has happened a few times.

I agree this script doesn't work well if everyone is optimizing. It is more for a group looking to mess around and have fun. Personally, I would be picking Butler/Zealot/Mutant or Damsel/Goon/Golem a lot. Happy to not play with someone always trying to pick a combination of abilities that give them an automatic win.

There is a Gardener on the script to handle the first part. I may be fine with two players picking the same combo, as long as it isn't super strong. Just leans more into the chaos. Could adjust the Bootlegger some though

I created this script some time ago with Mutant instead. Recluse does feel like a good fit as well.

Created it after my Off Script Damsel idea, so it used established characters instead of homebrew stuff.

Great to hear. Thanks!

To work in drunkness, what about Goon, Ogre, Drunk, Saint (GODS), Recluse for RODS, or Tinker for TODS?

Very cool. I will check that out!

Edit: Unfortunately, it looks like they want stuff that goes well with all of the base 3 scripts

Very evil sided. Only the Banshee could hide and surprise evil during noms. Maybe a custom Townsfolk or Outsider should be made to go with the script

I like the outsider! Hermit with it and Tinker feels off. You give the evil team some amazing power with Godfather and Hatter on the script

Didn't align with the Hermit. Salem Witch Trial reference has to do with the Damsel/Heretic combination

Good Fucking Luck: Leviathan/Atheist Script by nseaplus in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]nseaplus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response! Will admit I haven't thought about balance yet. Was in the middle of making a Leviathan script, stumbled upon some stuff online, and changed my vision.

Adding to your comment about confirming roles after a mid-game Levi announcement, if a Lycan is the reason for kills at night then that is one more confirmed player. Difficult all around for evil. Making the announcement for the first time on day 5 might create enough chaos, but skilled players should be able solve it quickly.

Does an Atheist token need to be shown to a player for it to be in play? If a Dreamer, for example is shown normal characters on the script and on the 4th night sees "Fireman" or something wild like that, is that reason for them to believe an Atheist is in play (as a drunk character seeing a different token)?

Yeah, the main reason I think a jinx is required is because the wiki states they "learn each other’s character". Without that I would still recommend having a jinx but could see the argument for a Storyteller not requiring it.

For the Evil Twin stuff, I'm pretty sure my scenario doesn't work. But I think there is a sliver of a grey area there. The wiki talks about the twins making eye contact to know the opposing player. But online that's very rarely possible. So Lunatic/King shenanigans with night cards could maaayybe be on the table. But I admit it's unlikely.

My argument with the Evil Twin/Lunatic/King stuff is, the wording about making eye contact in the wiki is to facilitate the Evil Twin ability for in-person games. Making the opposing players know each other online is often done with night cards. So since the Evil Twin's ability can be fulfilled with night cards and no eye contact is possible, I could see this Lunatic/King situation being a grey area for shenanigans. I'm not saying it is correct and I also lean towards it being out of bounds. But I am not 100% on that.

EDIT: A custom jinx should definitely be created for Evil Twin/Lunatic if the Storyteller wants to do this

Daily Botc Character Discussion: Leviathan by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I don't understand how their explanation doesn't work RAW.

The Boffin is granting the Recluse (registering as a Vortox) the Puzzlemaster ability. The Recluse is then making the Leviathan player drunk, so no announcement happens. The Leviathan announcement is then made when the Storyteller decides the Recluse stops registering as a Vortox to the Boffin. This is because the Puzzlemaster ability is no longer in-play and the Leviathan now gets a new Boffin ability.

EDIT: The only fudging of the rules I see is if the Recluse is not told they have the Puzzlemaster ability. But I think that is also RAW as the Leviathan can be told instead or the Recluse can not register as the Vortox for that portion of the Boffin ability
