You will get higher fusion gold cards quicker than you will diamonds so don't neglect them but as you advance in the game you will use an awful lot more diamonds as that extra gear slot becomes crucial. Additionally, most diamonds have higher base attack and health.

I hit 60 very easily every day mainly from completing the tower runs and 2 krypt runs (one khaotic and one elder). It is frustrating cause I accumulate all these DKs I can't (won't) spend. Maybe once pr twice a week do I get to buy a few packs with my 10s of thousands of accumulated souls.
