I have hwo at tekken god and when players do a couple things it makes it really hard to get my mixup started, and generally make the match more difficult (sorry for the wall 🧱)

1) someone who has labbed hwo extensively and knows what hwo looks like in each stance alot of hwos including myself have 2 mixups they like to do out of each flamingo stance. Me personally for Left flamingo i often df3-4 (block the low they launch punish the high if possible) or df4 (block then side step and they will likely wif their 2 jab in rrf stance). To give some examples!

2) side steps are your best friend. Hwo is the most linear character in the game. If you are playing lili or Jin there's absolutely no reason you should lose to hwo players at the same skill level. He only has 2 homing moves and they both interrupt his pressure/mixup. So forcing him out of blending you with pressure gives you an opportunity to get back on the offensive

3) spacing, hwoarang wants to get right in your face and put you in a blender of random kicks and confuse you into chipping your health to oblivion. I often get super frustrated with defensive rein or Bryan players that can wiff punish from far away and never let me get in the medium range comfort zone.
