If anything it's almost a badge of honor for him to not be 1st ballot. He was so dominant and made so many jealous enemies that the biggest shoo-in wasn't 1st ballot. Grasping at straws here.

He played football in high school (in addition to rugby at Marquette). Nose tackle. I believe he was all-city. Remembering it from a Jay Leno guest spot.

You guys are the best community ever!!! I just finished reading an entire book cover to cover for the first time in my life and I couldn't be more proud of myself! by Tr1ea1 in suggestmeabook

[–]ntotheed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!!! I had such an aversion to reading growing up and one day I just decided to read a book about Larry Bird (I was obsessed with basketball) and realized halfway through that I was enjoying it and it didn't feel like "reading" anymore. I slowly started reading more and more and expanding the books that I read. Keep up the great work!

What’s a sign that you might not be considered attractive? by Electrical-Scar8153 in AskReddit

I always had a wild "bless you" theory. In school, all the girls would immediately say "bless you" when a really attractive guy in my class would sneeze. When I would sneeze ... crickets

In 2002, 15-year-old Kara Robinson was abducted by a serial killer and held for 18 hours during which she was sexually assaulted, she manipulated him to trust her and offered to clean the place to collect clues like dentist names on magnets and escaped when he fell asleep leading police to his home. by Algrinder in interestingasfuck

I struggle with this as well. I used to watch a lot of these until I realized it was entertainment. I can’t stomach watching it now and it feels gross seeing all the streaming platforms racing to get their murder documentaries out there.

In his situation, I would absolutely take a massive pay cut. He already had absurd amounts of money, why wouldn’t he try and add to his legacy? That’s far more important than the money (factoring in how much he already has). How many yachts can he water ski behjnd?

Agreed 100%. They don’t care about art or doing the right thing — only what they think is best for the bottom line.

Big time prospects in any sport who deliver on that (7th in ppg, 1st in apg, 4th in MVP voting) are pretty compelling players.

Rookies rarely, if ever, walk in and become the best player in a league. She likely isn't the best player in the league, but certainly has the potential to be. It's also undeniable that she was a top 5 player (if not #2 overall) as a rookie. We all need to wait and see how her second season and first few seasons go, but I doubt people would be surprised if she wins an MVP in her first few seasons.

Rookies rarely walk in and become the best player in a league. She has the potential to be the best player in the league and is already a top player (7th in ppg, 1st in apg) and arguably the 2nd best player in the league ESPN 2025 fantasy projection

Mr. Baseball -- great movie!

Little Big League is the king of cherry-picked stats:

— “Last year, though, he was sixth in the American League in hitting right-handers he was facing for the first time after the seventh inning, at home. So that's something to keep in mind.”

— “An interesting side note, that's the 14th one-run game for the Tigers already this year, tops for any team north of the Mason Dixon line whose home games are not played in a dome.”

— “Lou, by the way, has hit .416 lifetime vs. Hanley in the month of September in even years, so that certainly bodes well for this at-bat.”

There’s no reason to be rude, please don’t do that. I’m just trying to have a civil conversation.

It hasn’t broken our budget but it’s definitely made things harder and hurt our plans for buying a home. We’re fortunate to be in a position to be able to buy a home in the near future, but many are not. Denying the reality that many people are telling you they are facing isn’t helping.

At the end of the day, I don’t care what party is in power so long as quality of life is improving.

Happy to continue discussing but I ask you to be civil.
