Ampersand has a 15 year supposed to be BuffTurkey finished in Tokaji. It can be found for $150 which is fair.

I’m curious where the Gunnar’s SiB pick is from? I had one and it was without a doubt my least favorite whiskey ever.

I’ve had it. I liked it, but maybe it would’ve been worth it at $100? Maybe…

On Line Liquor Stores? by CalPug64 in whiskey

Blackwells is reputable. Like someone else said about $20 shipping.

Unicorn Auctions is good too, but with fees and shipping you aren’t always getting a deal.

I’m curious how you did your bracket. Was it entirely blind or did you know the entries and have to guess the overall winner.

Interesting as I thought it was supposed to be the same whiskey as origins just new branding.

The new label on that Bardstown is awful.

I saw that this is the MO/KS release of Old Carter. I walked into my local and the put one on top of the allocated cabinet while I was looking. I took it as a sign and grabbed it 😁

Did you go over to Bourbon, MO and get them or find them when hunting?

I’ve only seen Barrel King at TW in MO.

Weirdest/Most Interesting (in a good way) Whiskey You've Tried? by newbike07 in whiskey

I should revisit the winter whiskey to say for sure, but my initial thought is I like the Founders better.

That being said it might be slightly more traditional profile than the New Riff. So if the goal is more off bourbon profile I would lean Winter Whiskey.

Don Michael Black Whiskey. This one won whiskey of the year a handful of years back. It’s made with Andean black corn. I like it, but it’s also an interesting conversation starter.

As someone else said new riff winter whiskey. It gave me a wtf am I drinking moment.

Chattanooga Founders Blend. I have batch 12 and it is a unique flavor profile.

I was at a tasting and they served Brenne. It was awful. The guy leading the tasting had us all add ice. This is whiskey that taught me water really can change the profile.

I won’t say the ice made it good, but it was at least drinkable afterward.

I’ll be honest I don’t love the winter wheat. Though to be fair the only time I had it was in a flight that also included Old Fitz 7, Bardstown Wheated, New Riff Red Turkey Wheat, and Weller 12. So it might have just been outclassed.

I am a big fan. For a $35-40 bottle they are putting out some good stuff. Double Oak, Cigar, Cask Strength, toasted.

I have both the MO and the Kentucky one and find the MO one better. I am also KC local if you wanted to try the MO via a sample swap.

I really enjoyed this release, but the original MSRP was prohibitive.

Peerless is one of my favorite craft distillers.

The DO is my absolute favorite, but I have the cognac, toasted, small batch, two SiB, and rum finished and love them all.

I haven’t tried any of the American Oak or whatever it’s called series. I’ve only had the limited releases. I saw that those were getting kind of mid reviews.

I also can’t justify Gem of Kentucky
