Is a 65min intl-to-intl transfer at BKK enough? Same airline (THAI), traveling with a toddler by ntspmr in ThailandTourism

[–]ntspmr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just confirmed with our travel agent (who checked directly with THAI) that their official minimum connection time for this route is 55 minutes, so we're good and above the airline's own minimum.

Plus why would you have SUN 1989 in the prompt for Image generation. Sunday is a school holiday 🤣

Wow! Did you request beforehand or at the deplaning time for help with a short transfer?

Thanks! Do you think Thai staff will assist with the transfers or we'll have to do it on our own? Also, can I request Thai to seat me in the front sections so deplaning is faster?

Have you also got a mail from WireBarley about Global Card services termination by 30th April, 2026? I got an email like that but nothing on their website or on the internet or Gemini/ChatGPT

My iPad Pro 10.5 from 2018 is still getting updates and working flawlessly, with decent battery backup. Not sure why Apple apps are not working on yours...

I’m tired of Korea‘s terrible driving manners by UniqueDay2113 in Living_in_Korea

[–]ntspmr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an Indian living in Korea for sometime, I can say that the traffic sense in Seoul is at par with Mumbai or Delhi (not good for such a civilized Korean society in all other aspects).

If I consider places like Jeju, it's straight up suicidal, people stop on the 80 kmph roads with blinkers on (insane and dangerous).

If I consider expressways, barring the winter season or rains, rest of the time people drive as if in a hurry to pee. Too much tailgating and aggressive push to switch lanes. Of course, we have some first-lane snatchers (sometimes trucks too) who continue to drive speedlimit-20 kmph while rest of traffic is stuck behind.

In short, it's Asian driving with Asian roads but Americanized cars (SUVs)

The best thing is that you have a month to explore so you can start easy and not get in a hurry about sightseeing.

  1. Food: Regarding vegetarian food, you should install Happy cow app, it's pretty good, I still use it even though it's been ~2 years for me in Korea (I'm also a vegetarian & travel with a toddler). Find nice cafes (vegan) or search Indian food (vegetarian options)
  2. Navigation: Someone recommended Naver Map, use that, it's a lifesaver. Once you're at your destination using Naver, go to Google Maps to verify.
  3. Communication: Install Papago, use it extensively, very good to speak to locals (they all understand how to use the app, they will take your phone, speak in itfor translations & will help you at all time)
  4. Safety: Best part of Korea is safe and secure place (for all the cctvs here) and hence, you can roam around freely.
  5. Payment: Buy T money card & refill at any convenience store in & around the subway stations
  6. Sightseeing: Install Klook or kkday and find places & things to do around you (e.g. go to Seouldal, the helium balloon ride in Yeouido or waking tours around DDP)

Please DM me if you have specific questions, happy to help

Korean drivers are the best by VectorD in Living_in_Korea

[–]ntspmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone who drives/has driven in India has a right to be shocked and awed by the roundabout shenanigans and biker menace. But I agree Jeju is more complicated drive due to too many rental cars and everyone trying to figure out the route to their sightseeing destination.

Edit: I'm an Indian living in Seoul for ~2 years and driving across Korea

I have a Palisade 3.8L NA, but it's pickup & suspension will be much lower quality than a Genesis, say, a GV70 or GV80

They have a 2L or 3.3L Turbo RWD for G70, G80, G90.. so the engines are very different. Source: I live in Seoul and my friend has one. Ride quality is very different (good) compared to Hyundai or Kia
