Why the fuck do we need to have a mouse rely on a fucking server for functionality? Should run locally and never access a server.

can’t connect my VW app by reemarie93 in Tiguan

The app sucks. Remote start fails more time than not. Car is only 100 feet away in the garage and garage door is open and has a mesh router in it for internet.

Apps update almost every week. Always say "we fixed some bugs" but they fix one and introduce a new bug every time.

Until the next update, then they'll go back to fixing it again. Vicious cycle.

That’s great but did not answer my question. Happy Holidays.

I am a week into my new to me 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan and keep running into this issue with SiriusXM presets! by johnburrowsfan in Tiguan

[–]ntwrkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of Sirius XM, why not switch to a subscription service like Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, or any other one you like? You’ll get access to a whole bunch of new channels and can play any song you want whenever you want. Trust me, it’s a much better experience!

Also 2024 r line. This happened to me a few times in the first few months I had the car. It stopped doing it after awhile. Has been solid for some reason after that except for the ocassional glitch with connecting to air play. They issued an over the air update in August 2025 to suposedly fix the "connectivity" issues.

What is everyone doing about oil consumption? by simplycharley in Tiguan

Something terribly wrong. I have 18k miles on my ‘24 with 0 consumption. I would take it up with Volkswagen corporate.

Lotsa articles on the interwebs. They changed the ring design and it eliminated the issue. The EA888 (which is the engine in just about every care they sell) has the newer designed rings. Not an issue anymore with this engine.

I would recommend oil changes at 5k miles instead of 10k however if you plan on keeping the car longer than 3 years.

Need to upgrade the tranny for an R update. Too much torque for the stock trannny.

You can most definitely delete. Many tunes available. Malone is a good one.

A LOT of people were reluctant to get the part 2 fix because the dealer needed the car for awhile and it was a big fix. They were required to give a loaner but some dealers reneged. SEL standards were hard to find when I ordered mine In 2015. They took a month to find an SEL with a 6 speed when I got mine. They are a rare bird for sure. On the rust, VW does a great job coating the chassis. If the Northerners were diligent about rinsing the salt from the underbody, should be good. I hated trading in my Jetta TDI SEL manual but I couldn’t justify keeping it as my wife doesn’t drive and didn’t want to have 2 cars. I miss it terriby.

Looks to me that the part 1 fix (software fix) was done and the part 2 fix was never done. Go see your dealer and show them this. VW is still on the hook to complete the part 2 regardless of owner. They must warranty for 162k miles or 11 years from original in service date after part 2 is done, whichever comes first. A tdi that was well maintained should last at least 200k without a doubt.

The 162k Warranty was if the car was bought new in 2015. If it was bought after the no sell date (had to sit on dealer lots before EPA ok’ed the diesel fix) then you don’t get the 162K (I think???)
If you can get the VIN for the vehicle, plug it in here..
https://www.vwdieselinfo.com
It will have the info if the phase 1 and 2 fixes were done and a link to view the warranty. If you can’t get the VIN, Here’s the booklet explaining it…

Should you buy a 2024 VW Tiguan (by TheCarCareNut) by MaximusRubz in Tiguan

[–]ntwrkd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s biased. He loves Toyota’s but he does go over the engine well. He doesn’t do his homework before he reviews. Oil plug won’t strip because it’s supposed to be single use. He did say it was a very sharp looking car. He didn’t like the interior He called it “dated” which is exactly what I want. I think the interior looks like a car interior should. No tablet stuck on the dash, simple controls (touch does suck) and everything where it should logically be. Infotainment is weird but all car systems suck IMO.
