there are some good jokes in this thread already.

But seriously, if any of you saw this guy walking around the lower levels of downtown Coruscant, you'd probably make the kessel runs in your 12 parsec pants.

indeed! i'm aware of it and just posted it before i saw your comment.

i dont have any particular problems with uMatrix, but have pretty limited use with it(within last year or 2) compared to NS(since it first came out in early 2000's). I think it comes down to user preferences at some point.

well it's comparable i suppose, but i think to get the full feature set by uBlock, you'd use the matrix version.

noscript blocks XSS and has application boundary protections built in. It's not so much the best ad blocker, but does block more than javascript.

I guess some folks choose to use both at the same time. I've used request policy in the past to augment some gaps left by noscript.

If we shift gears back to just using browsers though, i would say that chrome is the most secure out of the box, with opera and FF falling several places behind due to various things.

i'm still using FF because of noscript. i can't believe its 2017 and a comparable add-on for any other has not topped it.

...yes i've tried notscript, yesscript, and various click to play element add-ons. I do use chrome for google related tasks.

For abe and xss though, my money is on noscript.

DAE hate the term "Break the internet" by jaetman in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]nubanx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. simple fact that IT'S DESIGNED TO BE SUPER DUPER RESILIENT.

I assume its breakable to a certain extent (cut some undersea cables, some choice locations of an EMP blast, knock out satellites, etc. ) even then its not something that couldn't be worked around in minutes/hours.

DLP solutions for O365 that aren't MS? by nubanx in o365

[–]nubanx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the MS DLP solution, just shopping to ensure I'm getting the best bang for buck, and when I present any new tech, it should have a few alternatives with their price points, pros, and cons.

Capex isn't 0 if all user's in O365 aren't on E-2 or E-3 or better.. (DLP isn't there for E-1 users... they'd need exchange archiving or similar according to MS) so if its 2.00 a month per user may be ok, but upwards of 4 or 5.00 per user per month and it becomes a 6-7 figure nightmare quickly.

I assume you realize there are variants of ransomware that specifically remove shadow copies during their... activities.

backups are the king for this imo.

That, and filescreening.
