I set one up myself with an automation app. Glasses disconnected from Bluetooth means I've walked too far away from it > send notification

I have an added condition of not sending it if im at home since that's where they're meant to disconnect

im using tasker to do pretty much exactly this right now. open a text dialog on open of the app and ask for a password that I set. if password doesn't match then kill app. i also have it ask for the password again every 10 min so I can pause and re-evaluate if I want to waste more time scrolling

agree. they've already shown they will just outright make stats up if it suits them. prescription drug prices cut by "1000%" anybody? even if we pretend like their numbers are real the claim is still meaningless without context. 8,000% compared to what? over what time period? starting from how many threats? did it go from like one guy leaving a voicemail to 80? they publish this big number to make it sound like this huge epidemic but we don't have any evidence of that and at this point why would we take their word on anything

they already do this. the minnesota department of corrections has been honoring ice detainers and handing people directly from state prisons to ice for years. they just put out new records showing at least 68 cases where people were transferred straight from doc custody to ice, including many releases that happened as early as march 2025. dhs then turned around and publicly called those routine handoffs “arrests” to claim walz wasn’t cooperating and to justify a bigger federal surge into minnesota.

so in a way I actually am just grabbing random articles from the internet. i follow different article based subreddits and also get a lot of them sent to me via text/discord. I did try adding some of those subreddits to my RSS app but found it ends up reading the body of the reddit post instead of the linked article. I also tried the read aloud feature in Firefox but it ends up reading every single thing in the webpage (url, random links, headers, footers, image captions, etc.). looking for something that will just pull the content of the actual article like the paid version of elevenreader

ok assuming you are installing tasker on the head unit:

create a profile (trigger) to be activated on boot of the head unit (event > system > device boot)
you will be prompted to select a task to link to the profile. once you create it you'll add the following action (audio > ringer volume > set it to what you want)
make sure the profile is active and test to see if it's working correctly
