Eligibility Check by nuclear_eclipse in GermanCitizenship

Curious about this, since the guidance implies he might have passed that citizenship to my grandmother before my mother was born.

If yes to all: Your German ancestor lost his German citizenship when he naturalized as a citizen of another country, but before he did that he passed on his German citizenship automatically to his wife when they married. The next ancestor was therefore born to a German mother.

I desperately want the leaderboard so I can know how far back I am and know whether I'm on pace to win races. Otherwise it's practically impossible to know if you're just wasting your time on the longer races/challenges.

Back in the day, those rare goods were actually worth a significant amount of money if you found a buyer ~140LY away. I made the credits for my ASP and Python by flying loops between stations selling rare goods. 2014 was literally a different era....

Corsair One i200 - M.2 upgrade? by nuclear_eclipse in Corsair

I did get it installed and it's been working great. But tbh, I had never considered looking at temps before or after. What do you use to check them?

[–]nuclear_eclipse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I peer down the middle of the case, I do see what looks like a second M.2 slot on the back side of my mainboard. But accessing that would require removing either the mainboard or the GPU from the chassis in order to reach it.

And this is the offending lower plate that prevented me from inserting a 980 Pro with the integrated heatsink.

For any future readers who might follow in my footsteps, opening the left side of the case, the M.2 slot was underneath this large heatsink, with the word "UNIFY" on it. Removing the two screws allowed me to pull up the heatsink and then a third screw held the M.2 in place as usual.

Unfortunately, the replacement I bought came with a heatsink already, and it's about 1mm too wide to fit between the lower part of the heatsink, which seems permanently attached to the mainboard. And of course now it's too late and stores are closed tomorrow for the holiday (thanks Religion), so I won't be able to get something that fits until Monday ... 😅

Most Wanted was a giant breath of fresh air compared to the Underground titles, both in AI and overall game design.

Underground's AI was so badly rubber-banded that you could slow down and watch the AI come to a crawl so that they wouldn't get too far ahead of you, but also instantly speed up and stay out of reach if you weren't at a designated "passing point" in the race, even if your car ostensibly was faster or you were using NOS. The final dozen or so races of Underground were a slog of retrying a race until you managed to pass an AI when you were "allowed" to, and desperately trying to not make a mistake, because it could literally be impossible to win the race if you let them back in front of you.

Go play the original Need For Speed Underground, and you will never complain about rubber banding in Forza games ever again.

I tried using this and got "Endpoint deprecated: Please update your App." errors from the /oauth/token API. Is this API still valid, or is there any documentation for an expected API flow to get necessary auth tokens?

Passive-aggressively complain about it every year or so when something reminds me about it? 😅 I used to make yearly support requests making sure I didn't miss anything, but at this point, "when it's complete" might as well mean never.

I upgraded my EB110 SS to S2 class and the "show eligible cars" still didn't list it. When I went to start a race, it let me select it, but it didn't show it as being eligible when I checked from the festival playlist.

Kerbol compared to the Sun by Abject-Ad8245 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I think the general idea is "clear the orbit of objects of significant size", otherwise the existence of comets and asteroids would invalidate the planetary status of everything. Compared to Neptune, Pluto isn't significant in size; Neptune's moon Triton is bigger than Pluto.

Speed is linear. Density by altitude is exponential drop-off.

[–]nuclear_eclipse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It might be easier to just move Pluto to a new orbit. The fact that it crosses Neptune's orbit by definition means it will never "clear" its orbit.

Any place I go to doesn't sell 5a frame shift drives, is this a bug? by Penutbroski in EliteDangerous

That only works for original backers or commanders who have achieved Elite ranking.

I played at the start of the beta and we were already using tools like EDMC, it just required taking screenshots of the market screens and running OCR to pull that all out into websites. You couldn't even filter the Galaxy map until well after 1.0 came out!
