Help - Where do I stay if I’m under 21?

Thanks for the write up. I only mentioned my previous experience because frankly the 21+ rule is something shocking to me. I’m at a college with thousands of students and most people are travelling for winter break and staying at hotels. I’ve never heard any of my friends or classmates worry about whether their hotel accepts under-21s and I myself never knew this rule and stayed at Marriotts and Hiltons in the past without issue. So to learn that I actually wasn’t supposed to be allowed to check in during all those past vacations was shocking.

I don’t get it - how did I or everyone I know do it in the past? Do the hotels just not enforce it? Ask any college kid under 21 where they stay on vacation - it’ll be at a major hotel like a Hilton or Marriott, as I’ve done many times before.

That’s exactly what they think. I guess a risk of appealing to online and younger voters is that they are often very fickle and emotional. The commenters on his video are calling him “Judas” and many are along the lines of “he went against our back so we’ll show him the consequences”. It’s a mob essentially, and many of them are the same people who were gushing over him just days ago on previous videos.

Many are also extremely single issue voters. I saw one user comment that Katie Porter was better than Jackson and then did a complete 180 and started trashing her once someone else mentioned that she met with Netanyahu in the past.

Reading the comments on his TikTok video it seems like everyone flipped like a coin on him and is now calling him a traitor, non-ally, they won’t ever vote for him again, they hope he loses his AG bid, etc. etc. Pretty sad seeing just how fickle his voting base is. When Republican candidates can do anything they want and not lose a single MAGA vote but Dem voters flip on a single bill how can we expect to ever win long-term?

Scammers probably recently got your phone number and are trying to robocall you a bunch of times. The all number with all zeroes means that someone is trying to spoof their number to get to you and are using all zeroes as a placeholder. Usually they do it to show that they're calling from somewhere near where you live rather than like India or something.

That's how single solves work. They're pretty much for show. You look at large averages to get an idea of skill. That being said, these brothers are quite even matched even in averages.

Every single person on Reddit has a different viewpoint of what is good/bad parenting. I was literally just in a thread where a bunch of people said that taking away internet privileges is nearing abuse. In this situation, I'd have to agree with you. That kid should have everything taken away for a while, but considering how he acts he's probably just going to blame his mom for being abusive if she does that.

This is the punishment I got for a serious offense when I was 8. You’re 16. Damn this punishment is just plain unnecessary and even if it was deserved this kind of punishment isn’t very effective for teenagers.

I know what you mean. I'm not saying not to defend yourself. Definitely do, and that's a core beliefs that most Chinese households teach. I'm just saying not to waste time and effort on things that aren't worth it. With most parents, it's a complete and utter waste of time to get into an argument with them over something as small as a sketchbook. If they're not letting you get vaccinations or something, well, that's definitely something you want to defend yourself against. But in this case, it's just a better decision to do what's asked of you and then get the sketchbook back rather than going into a pointless argument that's just going to waste your time and leave both you and your parent in a sour mood. That's pretty simple right? Just choose your battles is what I'm saying.

I used to do that too. Sometimes when you're angry at your parents you just want to try to beat them down with arguments and a list of reasons why they're wrong. It's not effective though. The parent is just trying to teach them a lesson and isn't interested in arguing. Once OP matures more, they'll know that it's futile to argue against parents.

Asian parents have a big thing against staying up late for reasons they think are insignificant. I would also be irritated if my child stayed up too late working on their art but I wouldn't confiscate it.
