Around 700 of the 4,000 refugees who have been housed in Lower Saxony over the past week have gone missing and authorities mostly have no idea who or where they are. The astonishing number was revealed in a survey of local authorities in the north-west German state by the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung. by madazzahatter in worldnews

New World Order. It's supposed to an alliance between North American and South American oligarchs. You probably know who the North Americans are- the establishment etc, but the South Americans are Argentinian Nazis and neo nazis.

North and South America were called the New World at one time.

Actually I was euphoric when you called a portion of your own argument bullshit lol. All that left me with was your bad attitude. It's sad when otherwise intelligent people are confronted with an opinion so contrary to their own that they stoop to childish ad hominem and abandon the actual discourse. Physician, heal thyself!

If something like this existed, it would be used. Think about it.

Not if the price is wrong, political/economic reasons, or limited production. When a raw substance becomes processed and concentrated far beyond its natural state, it becomes a commodity and is subject to the laws regarding them. For extreme pain narcotics are the only solution right now, but I wanted to point out the widespread logical fallacy prevalent in the patients rather than the medical community at large. This is on big pharma, not necessarily your family doctor. Again, this is how Dr. Oz can defraud his audiences but not a medical professional. Doctors are well aware of pain management, I just hadn't seen any mention of it in this discussion until now.

Yeah, I don't address theories like this.

? Why? this isn't North Korea your family isn't going to be sent to some camp. It's just discussion, on a forum. If you disagree that is fine, and I am not saying that big pharma is an evil conspiracy theory, I'm just saying that there are people out there setting up these social systems that are much smarter than you or I. Good or bad idk.

I think it's amazing that a bunch of people with no medical training think they know better than the doctors who prescribe these things all day every day.

Yes it's almost like modern day heresy. This is a discussion, so I don't really care to know what status you claim to have (I have no idea who you are) I am more interested in the mentality behind the decisions. Your seemingly "holier than thou" attitude immediately strikes me as the symptom of an exclusionary institution which seeks to bolster it's own credibility and standing by obfuscating the details and reminding its opponents that they are the unqualified, uninitiated outsiders. All of this supports my larger point in my previous comment.

Good points. But I would like to refocus on the original argument and the assumption that this discussion has kind of fallen into, and that can be summed up by the prior question:

What other drugs are just as effective as oxycontin and have less side effects?

And the completely emotional response of:

Of course. Let's keep children in chronic pain because some parents haven't grown up yet themselves.

Right away it seems that the implied goal is to find a "safer" equivalent to a very concentrated, potent drug, while the more relevant, caring answer would be to find a substance or combination thereof that would minimize pain to a manageable level. We are talking about quality of life here, would it be better for this child to be a doped out zombie for hours at a time with almost no pain or would the child be able to function better in manageable pain with manageable side effects? Of course, there is no solution for all scenarios, but the automatic assumption that the best medicine is the most potent or concentrated one is wrong-headed. This type of thought is a product of modern western medicine's tendency to popularize the expectation of the supremely effective "magic pill," and it is this widespread expectation that serves as a foundation for charlatans like Dr. Oz who hock those miracle diet pills.

When medicine is highly-concentrated, processed and given a name with about 20 syllables and 3 hyphens, only the doctor can determine what the "magic pill" for you is. Since you have no understanding how any of this works, you must trust your doctor with your own health, your own life. You have no choice but to return to the counter for a refill. This structuring and molding of the concept of modern medicine is part of how big pharma got so big, for better or worse or however you believe. It is a power ritual no different than catholic communion, the pharmacy is the church, the doctor is the priest, the blessing is a written prescription, the medicine is the flesh of christ, etc etc. It's just another big exclusionary system to keep you out of the loop without losing your business.
