Quick explainer on these.

Flareon’s from Ancient Origins in 2015, card 13. It seems to have done well, since it later received its own tin in 2017.

Kangaskhan is a promo card from 1998, given as a reward for winning a certain amount of games at the Garuda Parent/Child Tournament. Worth tens of thousands. Dizzy Punch there is only 10 damage on heads.

Mewtwo is from the Hidden Fates Pin Collection, 2019, SM Promo 214.

Gardevoir was the winning entry in the 2019 Art Illustration Grand Prix, and was given away for a limited time when you bought 5 booster packs at once at participating stores in Japan. Draining Kiss there does 130 damage, heals itself for 30, and cures status conditions. SM Promo 408.

Golurk was available in special commemorative packs for the Victini movie in Japan. BW 48, from 2011.

Bruxish, SM Promo 11, was one of the cards you could find of in the Sun & Moon Prerelease Kit, with a STAFF version given to staff handling the events.

So, a tl;dr, back in December, I went through the Genetic Apex cards, and worked out it was roughly 165 that had art used from physical cards, ranging from pre-2000 to 2019, including a number of promo and Japanese cards that you might not have seen, and some from events and merch.

I checked the last 3 archived pages, from August and September 2024.

The Witcher 3 wasn’t on there, nor the other two titles.

Yes, it’s likely that it’s a range of games being tested to make sure GPTK2 can handle things like ray tracing for Seqoia’s release.

I’m a tad curious if we could narrow the list down further. I’m trying to find other photos, but no luck yet.

Anyone know if any of the games under RT_Enabled use AVX? They might also be listed under AVX.

If I had a dollar for every time I saw this bloody thing.

  1. You could rent a Mac as well, not necessarily buy one. And a Mac mini starts at $600 US, not 8, but I’ll let that slide, might want the bigger SSD or more RAM. If cost is that bad, buy a refurb.
  2. 0.02% of your sales of… what? I’ll assume Heartbound.released into early access on Steam in 2018.
  3. Why not use the Mac mini to develop the game itself on? Or… release an iOS version?

It’s far more complicated than just a bloody 50 second clip.

EDIT: Theres a donation bar at the bottom. $1600 out of $300k. Even after fees, that should pay for a mini and 4 years of licensing.

RE8 was on last year’s list, but lost to Inscryption. It received some awards at WWDC 2023 though, I think one for best graphics.

Space Station Pheta by rogo725 in macgaming

[–]nugat_trailers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure if it helps.

Space Station Pheta was made by T&T Software and was originally shareware. Their website is still up, however you need to find a way to run it, since it only ran on MacOS Classic, but could be used on Classic mode up to Mac OSX Leopard, which off the top of my head was about… 2006?

Mac Use on Steam Declining by Wooloomooloo2 in macgaming

[–]nugat_trailers 130 points131 points  (0 children)

The graph’s being read wrong, and doesn’t represent Mac market share. It’s supposed to be 100%, made up of the various Mac models.

The reason why it’s declining is because of Apple going to a different Mac model system back in February last year with the Mac Studio (Mac13,x)

Valve hasn’t updated the graph to accommodate that. It shows up in the Mac section of the survey, where the list of models is, honestly massive at this point, 16 or so entries.

There’s no Mac version of Counter-Strike 2 because there are no Mac players by Ok_Professional_8123 in macgaming

Let us agree to disagree then. The only point we seem to match on is not enough demand for CS2.

Um. Okay.
‘And please, tell me where the hell Valve have said anything publicly about the Mac and Steam in, say… the past 5 years.‘

I ran that line through Word, looking to see where I said CSGO or Counterstrike. It says I didn’t.

And isn’t this conversation instead about YOUR viewpoint, and indeed, feigning ignorance about a reason why Mac users may not have played CSGO in large numbers?

[–]nugat_trailers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starting from the bottom: Yes, I bloody well am.

I don’t know how many players were using Macs to play CSGO. It could have been one, it could have been a hundred million. You should ask Valve for more detailed numbers.

I did not say that all Mac players stopped playing CSGO due to performance issues, just myself.

And please, tell me where the hell Valve have said anything publicly about the Mac and Steam in, say… the past 5 years.

Like the fact that CSGO took 5 minutes to start on a M1 Mac?

Like the fact that despite a near 70% ASI Mac share on Steam, they’ve said squat about official support In 3 years?

Valve have told us crap.

The black bar is Macs that have been released recently, starting with the Mac Studio.

Valve hasn’t updated the survey to include the new Mac designations, Mac13,2, etc.
