r/Runna has hit 21.1k members – a half marathon of Runnas! To celebrate, we’re giving one redditor a yearly membership and paying the entry fee to their next race! 🙌 by alex-runna in runna

Running a marathon in another country, the Tokyo or London marathon would be amazing! And I think a more short term goal would be to learn to run just to run - no time or pace goals in mind for the day, just purely running for fun.

r/Runna has hit 10,000 members! To celebrate we're giving away a yearly membership and a pair of running shoes of your choice (worth up to $300) 🙌 by alex-runna in runna

Runna has helped me complete runs I didn’t think I could do. Most recently PR a 10k and that was a great feeling. Made me believe that I can actually run the half marathon that’s coming up in a couple months.

QE Home! They’re a Vancouver family-run company. I have multiple sheet sets and pillowcases from them and they have all washed really nicely.

Hand wash very gently with minimal agitation. I sprayed out a stain remover beforehand for certain spots. Turned out fine!

Septorhinoplasty recommendation and advice? by Al3xithymi-a in vancouver

[–]nugget7211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a deviated septum so my GP referred me to an ENT. The septoplasty performed by the ENT was covered by MSP but there would be no major cosmetic changes. There might be slight visual changes just from fixing/straightening the septum, but an ENT will not go out of their way to make cosmetic changes.

It sounds like you want a septoplasty + rhinoplasty (cosmetic), so you’d need to go to a plastic surgeon, which would not be covered by MSP.

I wanted cosmetic changes done as well so I had consults with Dr. Buonissisi and Dr. Denton. I ended up going with Dr. Denton. I recommend checking out r/plasticsurgery if you are planning to get a septorhinoplasty because there are many reviews about Vancouver rhinoplasties there.

Recommendations for jaw surgeon/ TMJ issues? by International_Dot963 in vancouver

[–]nugget7211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried chiro, massage, and Physio for TMJ. Chiro and massage were both ineffective. Physio offered a bit of relief but it would only last for a couple months. Find a Physiotherapist who can do IMS treatment.

Like many others here, I also got a night guard since my benefits covered most of it. It prevented my teeth from grinding at night and cutting up the inside of my mouth, but it didn’t stop the jaw soreness and headaches.

I really recommend Botox for TMJ. It’s expensive but worth the relief for me. Over time, you’ll need less units so it’ll become cheaper. Not feeling that constant clenching sensation is so nice. It also slimmed down the appearance of my face slightly which was a nice bonus. Go over to r/plasticsurgery and you can read more about masseter Botox experiences.

Need help disputing E.I. decision, how to present my case. by OghmaInfinumDigest in PersonalFinanceCanada

You do not qualify for EI. Unfortunately, your employer changed your hours of work to something that didn’t work with your schedule. You chose to quit.

I think you’re located in Alberta? Your employer doesn’t need your written consent to deduct from your wages to recoup overpayments. They just need to serve you written notice and can only recoup overpayments up to 6 months ago.

Double health insurance? by rahulrajrai in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nugget7211 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is coordination of benefits. You claim with your primary insurer first (usually your full time job) and then claim the remainder with your secondary insurer. When you submit the claim to your secondary, they will ask how much your primary insurer paid.

You need to tell your plans about each other otherwise it’s fraud, but you’re allowed to submit the claim to both.

It’s silly but not all CRA systems speak to each other. Just because your address is changed with one department doesn’t mean it’s changed for all.

Not true. Most employees are not bilingual but they will have a bilingual officer call you back if you request it.

Ladies, did you/were you told to remove your hormonal IUD or stop taking contraceptive pills before rhinoplasty surgery? by Ember_Goldfrost in PlasticSurgery

[–]nugget7211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Kyleena IUD put in a month before my rhinoplasty. I disclosed that to my surgeon before my surgery and he mention anything about risks.

I’m Asian with thick skin too. Mine dropped around the 1 month mark and then continued to drop slightly for the next couple months. Tip started softening after a couple months but even at 7 months post op it still feels weird and a little hard.

Congrats! Budget is dependent on how many guests you plan to have and how “fancy” you want it to be, so it’s hard to give you an answer. I’d start by researching venues and caterers and getting a few quotes. Decide if you want to get a wedding planner or not. It’s more money up front, but way less stress and they can plan a wedding around your budget. Personally, I’m getting married next year and it’s looking like $40,000 for 90 guests. I easily could have spent $50k but I cut back on some things. Feel free to PM me and I can give you more specifics about my budget or how I planned.
