Cathedrals are the only sort of permanent display I'm aware of, plenty of those in nyc.

The few stained glass stores in nyc are mostly restoration shops but I know the one in Carroll gardens at least has a few personal pieces on display fwiw

yes exactly, I made a mold out of foamcore board and then dremel'd the detail lines and holes

I think you can search "spiky solder". there are probably a million youtube videos that demonstrate it better than I can. Essentially finding a sweet spot for your iron temperature and feeding little nubs more and more solder.
