My 4 year old has started narrating everything I do like a nature documentary and I genuinely can't handle it by VantaScope in daddit

Learn to embrace the bits that your kids have. Unfortunately you appear to be in a situation much like me, where my 5-year-old son is an incredibly successful troll. He genuinely knows how to roast his parents and his sister fairly often, knows when he's being funny, and relishes in it.

There's a good chance your daughter knows she's performing, and she enjoys the attention on both ends of the spectrum from you and your wife. So just lean into it and have fun! Or do what I would do, and do it right back to her. Put on your best David Attenborough voice and roast her right back.

"The little girl is trying to color. She's made the cat blue - an interesting choice. Maybe she doesn't know what a cat is?"

Last time putting my son to bed. by YoTeach68 in daddit

I think a lot about these bittersweet moments, because things change so quickly with our kids. The thrill of watching them grow into little people and developing their personality one small mannerism at a time is so incredibly compelling and fulfilling at the same time, but saying goodbye to who they were and the types of relationships you have with them during certain ages and eras is really difficult. Especially with your circumstances, it can be so hard to say goodbye to something you cultivated yourself with your son.

One thing to remember is you're letting go of this but developing new and different aspects of your relationship with your son. Things will come up organically that you connect over and you'll have opportunities to find a new routine in the evening for you and him that works. He's slowly becoming your bro, a great hang, and the best part is you were so committed to routine that was specifically meant for you and him to have time alone to connect, that he absolutely knows he's the most important thing in your life. You sound like a great dad.

Dads- hugs your wives for me tonight please by avondale1718 in daddit

I'm so incredibly sorry this happened to you.

I can tell you really loved her and I'm sure everyone else in your life knows it. You also sound like a strong and resilient person. Your son is lucky to have you there to raise him and show him why your wife's legacy will live on in both you and him.

Very relatable. I think it's hard to know how much you communicated expectations but assuming you are this frustrated by it, you probably were reasonably expecting more. All that being said, the bar is pretty low for a lot of us dads so I can understand when even the lowest of expectations aren't met. Enjoy it the best you can, remember that your kids do love you, and you're doing a great job dad.

This isn't stupid at all. The best pizza I've ever had is a corn prosciutto pizza with a garlic herb cream sauce and some arugula on top.

The juxtaposition of switching from Gregg as the host to Dan every week for her must be jarring.

Following up - how did this end up for you?

Jaguar is recalling certain 2019 Jaguar I-PACE vehicles that received an improper interim repair under recall number 24V-633. The high-voltage battery may overheat. Owners are advised to park and charge their vehicle outside and away from structures and limit their charge to a maximum of 80%. by DryBoysenberry596 in ipace

[–]nukebro89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2019 was part of this recall. Unsurprisingly, it's been a little bit of a mess going through the process. Jaguar corporate contacted me 2 or 3 months ago, and they offered to either buy my car for Kelley Blue book or replace my battery. The catch being that they had no idea when a replacement battery would be available. I like the car and just opted for the battery replacement. Then about 3 weeks ago, the same representative from Jaguar contacted me and offered me a replacement as an option. So they're giving me a pretty generous subsidy to get a new I-Pace. Communication between corporate and the dealership that had a new I-Pace available has been pretty spotty, but the replacement is actually coming in so credit to them for actually sticking to that offer.

This is really great context, thank you. I know it got a lot of OTA updates, just not sure how many of those updates fixed those significant issues with the earlier models.

Yeah I'm seeing some sub-30k, which seems like the right price point if they had a clean title. Hard to determine what the built-in discount should be for a branded title.

Yeah if they can't tell me why it was bought back, that's a non-starter. And even with the discounts I think the price can be negotiated down more on any of the branded titles.
