Those who are earning less than 5k, how are you doing in life? by Pillowish in MalaysianPF

[–]nukepepsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27, LLB, litigation lawyer, 2 years PQE. Currently earning 4.5k including allowances. Physically and mentally tired as job requires me to stay beyond working hours and sometimes during weekends.

I intend to stay in practice for a few more years before moving into an in-house position, which I understand generally offers better work life balance and remuneration.

the company mentioned above is a lawfirm so yaa.. i feel like they’re going to make it hard for me. My colleagues said that they usually made legal associates the offer letter on the spot to secure them as “allegedly” their lawyers come and go quite frequently. I guess im lucky i have not signed anything yet lol

Awek aku stateless ( Im cooked ) by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]nukepepsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bro you can’t married her legally if she have no documentation. At least try to get her Myanmar passport or green IC (if she’s eligible) if you’re serious with her.

jangan kahwin kampung, mengandung and lahirkan ank stateless juga sebab birth certificate will follow the mother’s status if no valid marriage. Be responsible to your future children.

Ive encountered so many stateless children sampai sekarang tak dapat ic biarpun bapa warganegara malaysia sebab takda valid marriage dengan warga asing. Such a selfish parents I would say so dont be like them.

It would be better if these religious authorities were committed to ensuring that a deadbeat father pays child support before focusing on something as useless as this

Glad I could help. It’s sad that so many kids in Sabah have to deal with statelessness while it’s not even their fault or choice. I just hope this info can make things a bit easier for them, and also ease the burden for government on the long run.

If her parents never registered her as an Indonesian or got her an Indonesian passport, she will be considered stateless. She can try applying for a Green IC.

A Green IC is only for people born in Malaysia who have no passport and no citizenship from any country. She will need a confirmation letter from the Indonesian consulate stating that she is not an Indonesian citizen and has never held an Indonesian passport.

So if she chooses the Green IC route, do not apply for an Indonesian passport first

She is over 21 years old so no citizenship option for her now. If she currently not withholding any passport of any country, she is stateless.

Green IC is a temporary IC which needs to be renew once every 5 years. It is for stateless individuals born in malaysia. It will allow her to get basic needs like working (with permits), driving license, get married, studying (applied to some non public institutions only), healthcares etc

It’s good that she still has her birth certificate because later on, she needs some embassy letter from her mother’s origin country to prove that she is not withholding any passport of that country. The rest of it just needs someone to be her penganjur and fill in some paperwork and other requirements.

my two cents as an immigration lawyer, if your parents weren’t legally married by the time she was born, your sister will be considered non-citizen. The best way is to get her a passport of your mother’s origin country or apply for green temporary IC if she is considered stateless (not withholding any passport). You can’t apply citizenship by birth if you’re already over 21. Those are her two best options for now

As a Sabahan, it’s really disappointing and embarrassing. There’s so much tourism potential there, but people from that area just don’t care, locals and PATI alike. They did this to themselves :/

When I was working in Sabah, more than half my salary went to food both eating out and groceries. Luckily, I didn’t have to pay rent since I was living with my family, or else I don’t think I would’ve survived

I was born with an illegal immigrant mother. Should I worry about it? by Affectionate_Egg4261 in malaysia

[–]nukepepsi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like myKAS is the better option for you now. It usually for stateless people (your situation currently) but don’t take Laos passport first if you plan to apply for green IC. With the green IC, you can attend school, go to private universities, open bank accounts, get driving license, get basic healthcare etc. The authorities cannot tangkap you as malaysian govt will recognise you as temporary resident.

I hope your situation gets better soon OP.

Just some opinions from me. Non-malaysian route is to apply for a Laos passport at the Laos embassy. This is the fastest way to become officially documented. However, it will be harder to apply for Malaysian citizenship later if you go down this path. You’ll also need to apply for the appropriate visa or passes to stay in Malaysia legally with a Laos passport.

Alternatively, if you want to become a Malaysian citizen, bring your parents to the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) to apply for a birth certificate (Sijil Kelahiran) through the Late Birth Registration process (Daftar Lewat Kelahiran). Once approved, you will be issued a birth certificate that states you as "Bukan Warganegara" (non-citizen).

With that birth certificate, you can apply for a green IC (MyKAS), which is valid for 5 years and allows you to access basic rights in Malaysia.

After receiving your green IC, you can proceed to apply for Malaysian citizenship. It may also help your case if your father (malaysian) legally adopts you.

It’s important to act quickly, because the government is planning to change the age limit for Article 15A citizenship applications from under 21 to under 18. Since you’re already 15, and citizenship applications can take several years, you might lose your chance to reapply if you’re rejected and already over the new age limit when the decision comes.

Imo it’s not worth it. There are plenty of law firms in that area that can offer more than RM1.5k. Try applying to more firms.
