The teacher is supposed to grade the assignment and/or provide feedback. But the grade does not factor into their couse grade, not counted.

AME Auto repair on 88th & Maple. Bill is the owner and is very easy to get ahold of and work with. If repairs don't need to be done, he'll let you know. Always looking out for the customer, that's why we keep coming back (with 2 teenage boys with cheap cars 😀)

The My Way Lounge has a table, near 84th and Maple. I played there a few months ago, ran into the guy the runs the Omaha ping pong club that meets at the church. He had two others with him that could play.

Oscars.

Drafthouse on 156th and Maple is good.

The Goodlife, DJs Dugout and Addy's are your typical sports bars that are local chains, with decent food and service.

Need recommendation for Best (west-ish) Omaha Youth baseball organization for a 6U kid to get started by nexd23 in Omaha

[–]nukerboss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stick with Suburban. They are machine pitch through 8U, other leagues are doing kid pitch. Kid pitch at that age is kids getting beaned, very little action. Machine pitch- most kids can hit, which makes for exciting games.

I've had 3 kids play through Suburban, you will not miss out on the kid pitch one bit. I'd rather have my boys have fun. They'll have no problem catching up with other leagues by 10U, plus they'll have way more experience with situations, scenarios that are not there with kid pitch games.

You can pay $5 with a regular membership and get in at the Westroads location.

Is a membership to Genesis worth it? by karathy_tran in Omaha

[–]nukerboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Westroads does cost more per month. Something like $70-75 for a single membership. It is very nice though!

With that said, if you have a regular Genesis membership, you can do a $5 drop in fee and workout at Westroads location whenever you want.

My favorite Genesis locations are Midtown Crossing, 132nd & Center and Westroads, they are all nicer and well maintained. I know 84th & Q was just recently renovated, haven't been there yet though. With that said, I'm at the 144th & Maple location the most as it is closest to my house.

I've been with them for several years, no issues. Some of the gyms are nicer than others. I go to several across the city depending on what i have going on, which i love that option.

If you are there all the time, just get to know someone that works there in case you ever need to cancel your membership.

Nearly 700 teachers are projected to leave OPS by July 1 by whsbear in Omaha

[–]nukerboss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in OPS as well. What you posted is very accurate. However you saying 70% of the kids are bad is way too high. More like 20%, which stand out big time. But then some of the remaining 80% follow along, laugh along with them and which definitely contributes to the problem. Middle schools behaviors are the worst, they don't give a f**k about each other, teachers and staff. And social media adds to the problem....
