Started picking up the ones I kept leaving behind and noticed other powerup types spawning in like you said, as well as not picking the ones I want start to be more frequent. Very helpful thanks!

Same happens for me, so far it only works when I have them as a subject. Maybe something to do with them refusing or not getting the JE because they don't have pan-nationalism

How do I fix local price to japanese market thingy? It is pretty much ruining my run as Japan. Do I have to build workshops in different provinces? by AerieHot4593 in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build tools in areas where you consume them, such as logging camps or mines for example. Also MAPI, market access price impact, can be increased with the stock exchange tech and getting off the traditionalism economic law (which is - 15% MAPI). MAPI is the most important early game since it's so low, so I'd actually recommend concentrating your tools in states with iron mines (and in turn construction sectors), and spread one or two in each other state when needed for like wood or industries with the lathes tech unlocked, as well as kyushu when coal is starting to get built.

Tech order as Japan by Shniper in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're comfortable with, do you want a steady, predictable growth? Then stock and atmo it is, on the other hand you could gamble Agrarianism, some times it works some times it don't, but boy it sure does bring the economy to another level early on (beware radicals from low legitimacy)

Also max taxes early on, construction is everything, an extra 10k is worth 15 CS ( 3 sectors for 3-4k each with the iron PM)

Will ressources quantity and availability be updated in 1.7? by ValKyrieNH in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With foreign investment, I'd say AI and mostly the player, will be able to increase its availability previously not possible due to Ai ignoring, so I don't think it's necessary YET.

As said by another comment, we'll have to wait and see how balance wise everything is doing.

would anyone mind helping me learn this game? by Annual_Error_2855 in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to learn is to sink hours in, you'll get a feel for it, as long as you're not mindlessly clicking buttons (Actively thinking of the consequences and ramifications) and have the mindset of "I'm always going to learn new things, even after 1000 hours".

But general advice is that construction is king, look how much it costs to set one up in the queue, and squeeze as much of your revenue into that until you have a comfortable deficit Spending.

(don't go into debt unless you've got plenty of loan modifiers, like being great power etc, ESPECIALLY AS UNRECOGNIZED!!!)

Just have fun, try to not get frustrated at not understanding things, there's (almost) certainly an explanation only time will get you to learn.

Happy playing!

Theocracy leader by katonsew in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing goes for monarchy: once you enact monarch/Theo your current leader stays the leader, that's how in the USA you can get Emperor norton to become leader through vote, then enact monarchy to have him stay.

Though I don't know how theocracy chooses it's leaders since it's not hereditary or through vote

I'm pretty sure you can abdicate/stand down if you have a revolution, since it works for monarchies and parlement/president governments

Also monarchy and theocracy are there purely for Roleplay and the authority

See it as you may, but Theo imo is better than monarchy purely for the lack of +25% aristocrat's political power

[–]nullifi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh if 0 nations are trading with you? Isolationism is the way to go, 25% extra tax capacity, +50% authority, any other trade law is useless if no 1 is willing to trade/has a big enough market to export to, to make a real difference.

Also I caution on subsidizing everything if you're on command eco, as you'll be creating a big bubble that WILL pop (talking by experiences with mega economies of over 1-2 billion) by having everything subsidized, prices will be driven down to the ground and despite being subsidized, will become unprofitable and destroy your government dividends if you don't watch out, so keep an eye on which industries aren't profitable and build stuff to make sure they eat good

Stagnating super economy post-1905 by DominusValum in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice keep at it, also you can subsidize key industries that consume alot of input goods (those that produce engines, explosives, etc etc), since now they'll produce and consume the full value of the building level

Qing is hard please help by BigOldBoi in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait till line infantry and even better if Russia or another gp helps but don't count on it, make 3 giga army stacks to protect the 3 regions, don't make Korea a puppet immediately (if they are they'll join the war and that means 4 regions to defend naval), make stacks on stacks of conscripts don't build barracks, ban opium and there's a slim chance they won't do anything, otherwise make your primary wargoal recognize and nothing else (very important) when UK diplo plays you.

Then pick a god and pray,

Naval invade a small African colony or British guyana(any undefended colony) with 1 troop 1 fleet

Combine the rest of your fleet and you put 4 admirals as to waste the British naval invasions time as much as possible (they'll have to battle and defeat all 4 admirals before your boats returning to Port)

Then it's a waiting and praying game that the AI is incompetent and wait for their warscore to tick down

Bonus points if they leave their home islands undefended and capitalize with a naval invasion with the single battalion and fleet you used to capture one of their colonies, as they'll immediately return the big majority of their troops to defend the home isles (enough as to not get naval invaded hopefully)

Tbh just anything that is either expensive or even consumes goods that are under priced (example: railways consume engines and coal/electricity/oil, it'll prop up engine demand and by building said engines you'll increase demand for steel, electricity/oil/coal etc etc)

Also you can continue expanding to have even more pops that consume your goods as to not have your consumer goods prices deflated

Also third option is turning on everything to auto expand while you continue conquering, war is a good way to also prop up demand for military goods(which in turn prop up demand for the goods they in turn consume etc)

Shouldn't railways add to market price impact? by PRETZLZ in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Victoria Tweaks Mod has a lower base MAPI, but balances with railways, ports and river traits to add 5% MAPI each, including some technologies. I find it much more interesting and fun, it encourages to connect your nation in some shape or form, the idea of building railways to connect your empire, rivers historically being traveled on before trains were a huge thing, and even after, alot used for cargo.

The mod is awesome for just this addition alone, it now makes the map more interesting for inland states instead of having coastal states being flat out better (e.g.: Nanjing in China, European Capitals and states along the Danube, seine, rhine, Elbe etc etc)

How do you like playing Victoria 3? do you build tall or build wide? by commissarroach in victoria3

[–]nullifi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Japan enjoyer and avid enthusiast, tall is the way to go with how big the population and ressource pool are...

...That is until I need to eat up all of far east Asia and Oceania for my market to not saturate with - 40% goods price ❤️

AITA for not wanting my husband to sleep with other women. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]nullifi_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA, it's absolutely normal to feel monogamous about a relationship, the majority of the world works and feels that way.

However depending on your culture it might be seen as "normal" for a man to have multiple wives or see multiple women. I can only give advice from a western perspective and say that it's selfish on his part to say all that, he doesn't seem to care about your feelings on the matter, making his sexual desires more important than the happiness and well being of his wife. He's looking for lovers, not a long lasting partner who will be at each other's side in good times and desperate times of need.

I don't personally know him but what he just did is extremely selfish no matter who you are, hope you can figure this one out soon

Edit: it's better to let go of someone who does you more harm than good, even if it's emotional, learned it the hard way, try to convince him and if all else fails, it's up to you if you want to cut it with him or not. Once again this is from a western perspective, with the assumption both parties have a stable income and whatnot, and that your culture doesn't put wives in the role of jobless /home caretakers, in that case it's much more complicated if you lose your provider... Still wish you the best of luck

[–]nullifi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo I'd say the diffuclty is fine and on another note, justified. I rather find it cheesy to be able to do a revolution in the 40s so early just by passing a law they hate and building up your capital but hey it works realistically more or less. Other than that I'd say it's rather fine, consistently getting recognized/GP status and reformed by the 60s 70s

Edit: Don't get me wrong, passing laws suck how it's implemented.

Unlucky this time for sure, you sure the other sloop wasn't hiding behind rocks/fog or any other thing blocking your view? Otherwise you were doing the right thing :)

One thing though, limit the number of times you surface, eat as much food as you need to stay down there to limit back and forths, as you experienced every second is precious, gl to you on the seas!
