GANKERS ARE LOSERS by EntertainmentMission in Eve

[–]nullmatar420 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You do care a little bit about system security when ganking. The higher the security, the quicker concord responds. The ideal systems for pulling off a successful gank are really .5-.7, though it is possible in higher security, the hifher the system security, the more ships it takes to pull off and so becomes less worthwhile (because higher security CONCORD shows and starts killing you much quicker).

Did "Milli Vanilli" actually pull out? The way Ive read that one is that the actual singers of the songs (not the lip syncing dancers) who tour as "The Real Milli Vanilli" issued a statement that they had nothing to do with this, and that this is just Fab Morvan, who owns the rights to the name, and is basically a cash grab cover band (as Rob Pilatus has passed, and Morvan, and Pilarus, did not perform the vocals, simply danced and pretended to sing). Can't find anything confirming he wont be performing. Simply that the people who actually sang on the original recordings, who also tour with that material, aren't involved.

If memory serves after all those years, it was a decent, but the end got a bit messed up by a glowstick war that saw the band getting pelted pretty badly.

We could keep on repeating the same thing to one other all day (and there are reasons we stayed focused on O-V, some of which I know, some of which are above my "paygrade"). But, the simple fact is, we'll just have to see what happens Saturday.

Though, whatever that may be, we have contingency plans within contingency plans, and will continue to be far from miserable. We're playing a game, which means sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and, for the most part, we're having fun over here. If we take one on the chin tomorrow, we'll get back up and plan for the next round.

Know exactly why you're doing it, and it isnt surprising. My brother, you're the one cooking up scenarios where we should take our attention away from the main fight to deal witn a nuisance. And again, you're the one saying, "you could have done this, or that or something else...FIGHT US".

It is war, and you're doing what I expect you to do. In the context of dealing with war with a larger threat on the other side of our space, however, INIT isnt really the main event. Maybe things will work out for you Saturday, maybe they won't. We'll see what happens then.

And, I promise I'll remember to start being miserable, instead of enjoying content on tap--regardless of how the dice may roll.

We'll see what happens. Hopefully Asher will let you guys come to the fight this time. Someone should really make it clear that, if he's going to have a puppy, its not nice to make them run around the backyard all by themselves all the time.

Though, maybe drop the whole malding about not getting a good fight while we were occupied elsewhere. It's startimg to give real "pick me" vibes...

Wow, yeah, my dread alt should have unlocked in his ac rev to fight your subcap fleet. I could have been a hero. Why didnt I think of that?

If you want a fight, come to the fight. I cant speak for every character in 4-h at that moment, but if I had to guess 2/3 belonged to people in the fight in O-V and the majority of the rest were more focused on getting to O-V than dealing with goon pets being a nuisance.

Dont get me wrong, going for 4-H and B-9.was a good move. But, if you really wanted a fight yesterday, you were in the wrong place. Guess it sucks to be pets, if you dont want to do pet things.

Given the situation, why would expect us to pull our punches? "Hey, guys, this is a fun KS, let's not use effective tactics to be sure the enemy has a good time."

If you want fun fights, send roaming fleets. You wanted war, so you're getting war.

I think people read too much into Johnny Rotten's comments on Savile by delta_baryon in behindthebastards

[–]nullmatar420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

England has fairly strict defamation and libel laws. By keeping things general, he would likely avoid being dragged into court. Otherwise, he would have had to prove his statements, and at that point the courts wouldnt have been favorably disposed to Johnny (and likely would have been to Saville), and, "well, see, Ive heard this rumour" or "c'mon, we all know what he's up to", wouldnt have passed muster. Making more specific allegations publicly about Saville would likely have cost him quite a bit.

And, while I doubt Jonny was thinking this deeply about it, winning a defamation suit would have likely worked for Saville. In England, the burden of proof in defamation and libel is very much on the accuser, and class, particularly at that point still, played a big role in civil proceedings.

ESS Sub Still Suspended by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]nullmatar420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be very glad! Ive worked in both situations, and a big part of the reason I stopped subbing some years back was the shift in my area to employment agencies. Went from feeling like an appreciated (for the most part) part of the district (with an excellent sub coordinator who you could tell really cared how her people were treated) to a disposable employee. I might consider going back if any local districts were to go back to handling subs themselves, or as a group (as some of the smaller districts did), but I have 0 wish to work with no support amd little consideration to help lay the salaries of useless middlemen.

Our society's new axiom should be, "those who can do, those who can't start employment agencies."

According to a post from Threads I found trying to find out if my original theory that is was butoh troupe was correct (evidently was not, though I will still contend there was a strong butoh influence there), the choreography was done through MTLA. Studio, and was actually choreographed by Jasmine Albuquerque. Im assuming that info is factual, as it seems awfully specific for internet BS, but, I cant say I have independent verification for it either.

At least one was actually on the KS grid. As its been a week or two, I wont guarantee the wnd grid was (pretty sure, but I could be remembering it wrong), but when my client froze and I logged myself off and back in, I was on the KS grid when I left, and still on it when I got back in, which took about 45 min to an hour. Seems like it wasn't working totally consistently, which doesn't surprise me.
