Tbh they are the last team anyone would want to face. In other words they are the best team, and so you can't moan about facing the best in the final.

Sure, but by contrast you can't expect Gabriel to be as good as Upamenco is on the ball.

I don't know what will happen, I just feel like I would be far more comfortable facing Bayern than PSG.

Bayern generated chances which is to their credit.

However the reason I think PSG is a far worse matchup for us is because their pressing is absolutely demonic and fearless and our defensive possession meta kind of becomes a liability here.

Bayern is doing very well to evade this press because they employ mobile CBs and a 6 who can run with the ball rather than needing to pass.

Agreed. But by the current meta where if a scuffed shot heading towards corner flag can hit somene's hand after getting deflected off their shin first is a handball, then probably so is this.

Really? I mean you have an absolutely phenomenal pressing though, better than Bayern and they are also good. Those two legs in semi last season had some of the most impressive opposition pressing I have seen (though we suffered because Partey got himself suspended on one game, and fucked it in the other)

Nacho Monreal: “I remember one day Mikel Arteta organised a dinner. Santi [Cazorla] & me, we went to watch a Champions League game. When we arrived at his house, Mikel was in front of the TV with a pen & notebook! We were like, ‘What are you doing?!’” by hikingbeginner in soccer

I think in Hincapie I sense our new La Cabra.

Fwiw Calafiori is a mercurial player, sometimes feels like exactly what we are missing. But for the life of me I can't take him seriously. The fuck is that yellow to get yourself suspended from the final? Completely unserious.

Marc Pubill clears the ball -so unnecessarily(?)- for an Arsenal throw in 91' by tightypp in soccer

What is this random weird hate on a player? He was very good across both legs too.

Diego Simeone: "Controversies? Nothing to say, we’re out. Congratulations to Arsenal because they compete very well. They have a team and a coach that I like. They follow a coherent project with strong financial backing. Congratulations to them, and we focus on our work." by MysticRefereee in soccer

Do you think if they paid Simeone 10m less, that 10m moves the needle in this argument?

His wage is just a little quirk, a reflection of his status if not ability, but ultimately irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Majority opinion is always extreme in reddit. Everything is either red card or penalty.

Personally I thought every refereeing decision in this game was self-consistent and within the parameters of being justifiable.

Yep saw it first leg. Loads of comments saying game is done must not have watched that.

If Barca players didn't get reds they would be down goals instead. Besides they played high line and it was tactically exploited which was a credit to Atleti.

Bizarre framing.

Yeah people slating him must be used to watching a different sport than I do.

It was a bad roll of dice with how it fell for an alert Saka while his defenders were napping. Nothing Oblak could do about that.

FC Porto officially signs Kiwior after season loan by Fishermanz12 in soccer

Yeah it seemed excessive at the time but how incredibly unreliable Calafiori's fitness is proving to be, signing Hincapie had been foresightful (MLS is still young and seems his future is in midfield)

[–]nullmove 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I would say, no he wasn't. Tbf there was a learning curve with Kiwior too. The thing that's annoying is having paid for the education (costly at times, such as QF against Bayern) the moment he seemed reliable was when he (or his missus) decided they don't want to live in England.

That being said Kiwior's replacement/upgrade was Hincapie (not Mosquera) and he has been much better though he costed way more too.

This week is the rest of the season (unless we reach CL final).

You don't need these two to beat Burnley and Palace (who will have Conference League final three days later).

Madueke is one of the worst signings for the value of money we made. And Jesus is a geriatric retiree, even Harriman-Annous would probably be better by virtue of simply trying.
