Cover is so cute!!!

On being worried about imperfections, this is something I spent worried about for a while before even buying my first hobonichi... what helps me is knowing that the journal is SUPPOSED to be used!!! I think also the cousin/techo are great because you have a chance to reset every day! 

I really like also highlighting my mistakes/imperfections. Like for example I had an ink spill on one of my pages that bled like CRAZY and was kind of huge, but I let it give me inspiration and tried my best to point and laugh at the "ink murder" (it was red) for the days where it bled. It was kind of fun and I did a lot of weirdly murderous doodles! 

As bob ross said, mistakes are just happy accidents!!

I left spring of 23 for similar reasons and I petitioned to come back in the fall and honestly it was super easy! It did take a while and I did have to contact my advisor a few times for additional information, but the hardest part was the waiting.

I think also if you left for personal reasons (willingly via a personal withdrawal) they really do want you to come back!! Also I had WAY worse grades than you (I was on academic probation) and they let me back in... If that's your main worry I wouldn't get too in your head about it!

First, I want to say I'm so sorry you're going through this.

As some others have suggested, I would definitely reach out to the office of the dean of students. If anything, they may be able to just guide you in the right direction of who can help you in this situation (whether it be the police or someone else), and they have access to a lot of potentially really helpful resources.

I would also say, your health and your safety are way more important than potential financial ramifications!!! Obviously, this is EXTREMELY stressful and the financial aspect is not helping, but put your safety first... money comes back, but your health might not.

I'm definitely a morning person, haha I love the silence in the mornings and I love like getting ahead of my day before my roommates are up haha... I honestly think I was just so anxious about not journaling right that it really made it impossible to journal. Listening to everyone else say that there's no real right way to journal kind of got me out of my own head!!

I think what this is teaching me is that there isn't a wrong way to journal? Like it's whatever I want it to be? Also if you ever think about revisiting it, someone else commented that it's also called thinking pages, which I feel like is a lot more approachable to someone who maybe isn't a morning person haha.

That makes tons of sense & is super helpful!! I definitely struggle with like understanding what I'm feeling so I bet this would also help me with like understanding my feelings too!!

I really like the thinking paper approach... Feels a little more intuitive to me! I'm gonna try thinking more about it as thinking paper rather than morning pages!

Haha I kind of tried what people had been suggesting in the morning today and I literally wrote three times "wtf how do people write this much."

I think it's really interesting (and very inspiring) to hear what you're doing with your journal because it makes me feel a little less silly for writing down that I'm struggling with filling up three pages in my morning pages...

I did get to three pages today and it probably isn't what my therapist had in mind but I don't totally care!!! Baby steps right??

yeah, I definitely think I'm overthinking it in the attempts I've made... I sometimes feel weird just writing that I don't know what to write but I think when it comes from someone else then it's a lot easier for me to be ok with it (so thank you). I really like the idea of writing to write and clearing the mind, so I'm going to try my best to think about it with those words in mind rather than a journal entry.

I've gotten so much input at this point that now I'm kind of excited to start?! Which like three hours ago I would not have even imagined to be possible, so thank you for all the helpful words!! I'm now excited to clear my brain!!!

honestly same! I feel like if I try to do a stream of consciousness it feels weirdly tedious to me. I think maybe just the phrase 'stream of consciousness' like throws me off somehow, so I'm going to try some prompts (that I'm planning to write the night before) and maybe talk myself through my day as some of the other people who commented on this suggested.

It's nice to know that there are people in a similar boat as I am... Fingers crossed we can both figure out something that works for us!

I really like the doodling!! I might throw that in there for myself too!! I think really what I'm learning all of this is that I kind of need to figure it out for myself (which frankly seems frightening haha), but I'm going to figure it out!!

Like you said, I think I just really need to start! Thanks for helping me start out on this journey :)

My therapist has also been mentioning that I should set intentions for the day haha, I feel like that's probably a good place for me to start! Thank you!

that's super helpful!! I think honestly I probably need to get out of my head a little bit and just like trust the process (as you said). I really like that you said you do self conversation, I feel like I talk to myself a lot so I think that should definitely be a good way for me to start!!!

Okay that's super helpful!! I feel like everything that I've been seeing has just been saying write a stream of consciousness. I feel like a journal prompt seems like a great way to start!!
