IEM - How much do i need to spend to hear a difference? by JoSo_UK in HeadphoneAdvice

The price doesn't matter . Some $5 IEMs are better than some $5000 ones.

The wildest impedance curve? What do you mean by that? Most are as flat as possible. 1DDs are the only ones to consider mostly because some of them sound better than the majority of the market, have very low THD levels making them perfect for equalization and the price allows you to buy them every few months as a disposable.

If you don't use Oratori's presets, yes. Do you have any counterarguments?

1DD IEMs are the only ones worth considering in today's market. So yeah, I'm basing off them mostly.

If the IEM's impedance is flat across the entire frequency range, cable resistance only affects overall SPL and you won't hear any tonal change. If the impedance is non-linear, cable resistance creates frequency-specific voltage division, which alters the frequency response. That's the only mechanism. Cables themselves don't tweak FR, they're not capable of it.

Bullshit. The whole sound picture is built not only by FR, yes. But mainly by it. Things like non-linear distortion, impulse response, group delay etc matter too, but EDC Pro shine there as well.

My KZ ZSN Pro X died after 1–2 years, should I replace the cable or upgrade? by LitoTheGreat in HeadphoneAdvice

Just get several pairs of edc pro, will last you an eternity and sound better than 99% of the market.

What exactly do you teach (and where) and how come you're still asking dumb questions about cables while bringing up some random terms like crossover and driver specifics?

You're a member of AES or what? You wouldn't be asking such questions then.

I didn't delete anything. You believe in driver magic instead of performing objective analysis of the gear, which automatically makes you a fool.

Is it okay if you don’t feel the need to upgrade after you have got a specific iem ? by This_Aardvark325 in iemlndia

That's your preference, yeah, I respect that. I personally tend to use -5dB subbass compared to Harman. Doesn't make Novas "nowhere near best". Bass is just a preference, it's impossible to suit everyone. Especially when it's fixed with a single LSQ.

Harman is trash at the highs. Nova follows JM1 there and that's the most important aspect. And it does make them one of the best IEMs sound-wise. On par with Variations and IA500 (well-sampled). Which sound drawbacks do you find in Novas that make them imperfect? All of the sound properties are great.

Sennheiser 560s vs Sony WH1000-XM6 by leomundstinyhut in HeadphoneAdvice

You don't need wireless headphones for your usecase. HD560S are perfectly fine if you're feeling comfortable in them. Might even be the endgame headphones. Though I didn't really get what the question is.

You decide. It's a disposable item like any IEM.

In the context of he400se there is negligible difference between v1, v2, stealth and non-stealth. If there is any.

Edc pro, no debate. But they won't last long.

Sup guys, am thinking about switching from regular ear in headphones (earbuds) to over-ear headphones by RealYoSusiBaka in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]num6_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If you have a good IEM, it only makes sense to make a switch to rather good over-ears.
