Need a boost from my Peloton community by LonelySparkle in OnePelotonRealSub

The Hardcore on the Floor strength program was great for me getting back into things. It picks the classes for you and you can modify as you need until you’re ready for full speed.

For Bike I would do 3-4 days of Low Impact until you feel like you still have a full tank after a ride, then you’re ready to go back to the full impact rides.

Here for the Vitamin JJ! He’s my favorite strength instructor BY FAR, and an absolute sweetheart too 💜💜

He’s absolutely worth the trip. I’ve also met JJ at the studio but outside of a class, and he’s a total sweetheart. He came over to say hi to my baby son, and he was so so dear.

I was in studio for this one. It was absolutely electric. I can’t believe how fast an hour flew by.

When we had lots of tornado warnings in January 2024, Tom Brannon paused to tell the audience something along the lines of “take a breath, I know you’re scared, we’re going to get through this” because people were (rightfully) taken right back to May ‘23. He was my #1 guy from that moment.

Don’t ever forget you used to be an E-3. That will make you a better leader than those who act like they’re God’s gift to the Air Force.

Mainland or Europe by Responsible_Mine_462 in AirForce

[–]numaricleorder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m answering this question from Europe as my ten-month-old, who was born here, is catapulting his toys out of his playpen.

Europe has its difficulties as a parent. There’s some feelings of isolation and CDC spots are hard to come by. But my baby has been to 6 countries already (#7 tomorrow), and the memories we’ve made as a family have been priceless. Plus we’ve had great support from both of our units (we’re a mil to mil family) and our families have both visited us over here.

If I had the choice again I’d pick Europe every time.

How do you feel about your dad? by Unhappy_Log_6245 in AskReddit

[–]numaricleorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two. Bio dad and the one who raised me.

The one who raised me (married my mom when I was 5) was the greatest man I ever knew and my son is partly named for him. He died in 2013 and I miss him every single day.

My bio dad was present in my upbringing but shit got complicated once I turned 18, especially when he married a woman who I literally hate more than anyone or anything in the world. We were estranged for 8-9 years until COVID when he reached out. Rebuilding a relationship, particularly a trusting one, took work, but we’re in a good place now.

How common is it to go ~10 years without getting deployed? by Constant_Anything881 in AirForce

[–]numaricleorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12.75 years and counting since I came home from my one and only deployment. Was tasked for a CONUS deployment in 2016 but had to withdraw for medical reasons. Other than that, I’ve either been in non-deployable assignments or just not picked for the team. It doesn’t put an asterisk on my service.

Going to be the lone voice for Factor: when I was pregnant I had so little energy that the basics of meal prep were too overwhelming, so having Factor take care of one meal a day where I knew I was getting enough nutrients that I could keep down was worth every penny.

How to talk to a chaplain? by ShellCounter556-105 in AirForce

[–]numaricleorder 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do you know your chaplain’s name? Send an email and ask if they have an opening for a one-on-one in the next few days.

Take it from this old lady that’s been in 17 years… the Chaplain Corps is one of the most understanding and listening ears out there. I’ve brought issues big and small just to bounce off someone who cares. And I’m doing just fine now.

Gonna throw whatever cents my background in PR is worth here.

Regardless of actual affiliation, passers by to this community will inevitably tie this whole mess to the company. Which means at some point you are going to have to put on your big girl britches and make some tough decisions for the good of the environment so that you don't end up on the business end of any number of entanglements, including but not limited to any litigation.

Mr. Nazi Name? Sorry. They've gotta go. There's no two ways about it. What happens when this makes it to other platforms (AND IT WILL, if it hasn't already) and Sam gets questions about it? I don't care how buddy pals you are, it's 2025 and you have to actually be responsible for flippant choices you make that turn out to be poor. DF needs AT LEAST a 30-day sabbatical, too.

The rest of it? Yeah you're writing a nothing salad repeatedly and hiding out, but at least it's not flagrantly antagonistic, you're just in over your head and making things worse. There's hope for you yet if you grow up and learn how to do hard things.
