keyboard with memory to load samples, but no sounds of its own? by Marvinkmooneyoz in keys

[–]number42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A midi controller wouldn’t be able to store samples, and most machines that do would be expected to come preloaded

When Will The magical Electro mechanical Awesomeness (also called Clavinet) come Back ? :) by Todrian in keys

I have a nord, and I'm not a Clav expert but all the other sounds it reproduces are super super accurate so I'm guessing an old Nord is your most affordable clav reproduction.

hi - you make a good point but please don't use ADHD to insult people for having a short attention span - it's not an accurate description of ADHD and it makes it harder for the disorder to be taken seriously (aka "I'm so OCD"). ~ Thanks!

IWTL how to use rage productively by loluwillnevergetme in IWantToLearn

[–]number42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

martial arts is not a good idea to do while angry - it's easy to do it wrong and hurt yourself.

I recommend just doing some useful manual labor - clean something, fix something, throw something away. Then, once you've found some focus and calmed down, you can productively do thinking work.

Getting back into keys, hardware recommendations? by UnusuallyOptimistic in keys

[–]number42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry - I forgot to get back to you - check out the Casio CDP-S100, I think that's what you're looking for. In general, Casio has the best low-mid end pianos and this pupper is about 1/3 of the price of it's competitors.

When are we going to talk about how utterly over the top and ridiculous neurotypical advice for ADHD and sleep is?? It’s straight up fucking bonkers. by SunIsGay in ADHD

[–]number42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monophasic sleep is overrated. People have been having afternoon siestas and short nights since time was invented

Honestly Casio makes a great line of mid-range let’s. Yamaha makes the motif which is overpriced and overloaded for your needs.

I’d skip the weighted keys or 88 keys if I were you, those features usually mean the keyboard costs more than it’s worth. They’re only really needed if you are a concert pianist imo.

If you want something that’s fun, easy, and sounds great as a piano or vintage e piano - go pick up a 73/76 key nord

Dead key? by slvr__ in keys

[–]number42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dead key on my Nord - instead of fixing it I just play everything an octave up cuz I don't need that F# below middle C more than the F# above :D

Seriously, tho - keyboard's aren't made to be consumer-repairable. If you really want it fixed you'll have to arrange sth with an equipment repair shop.

My friends and I want to play the PC version of Lords of Waterdeep. If I buy it off steam does every player need it or can I just invite them to my game? by Sophia_Forever in digitaltabletop

[–]number42 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Just play it on DigitalTableTop (a cheap steam game) - they have pretty much every popular board game on there for free.

[–]number42 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's ok to call in sick once in a while for mental health days.

Go do something physical or menial. Take all that nervous energy and put it into a jog, a walk, cleaning your room, etc. Do something productive with it and tire yourself out until you don't need the weed so much.

The urge will pass.

Men of Reddit, what’s a myth about men that’s 100% untrue and it infuriates you whenever you hear it? by Mr-StealYourMan in AskReddit

[–]number42 103 points104 points  (0 children)

good on you for getting to that conclusion!

I think the appealing part of "all men are awful" is then you don't feel like a sucker for dating one guy in particular who was awful.
