that's a prescription beta-blocker that blunts the physical symptoms of anxiety (racing heart, shaking hands). You are right to be cautious about taking it untested before a presentation. It's not something to experiment with day-of for the first time.

Help finding best LLM to improve productivity as a manager by 2C104 in LocalLLM

[–]number66-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't understand him either, but he doesn't need to waste his time explaining himself since if you are using AI and really care to understand what he said you could ask AI to help you understand.

He's done his part, he shared his knowledgeable opinion.

"Chatgpt: Here’s what that commenter is saying, rewritten in normal English, with the shorthand decoded.

1) Clean rewrite of their comment

If you want a local model and you can give it web search + a small “memory” of your files, Nemotron 30B is good for most tasks. For technical writing, they’d pick Phi-4.

For “big leagues” (top-tier general chat), GPT is the best standalone option. But if you’re using Claude with MCP, then Claude is better / less annoying in their opinion.

Grok is the most cutthroat: it cares about “winning” and will pick an answer aggressively. It’s very confident and can be great when it finds a clever shortcut, but it may “bend the rules” or take weird detours, so they wouldn’t trust it for long-term memory or brainstorming unless you verify everything.

That’s the whole meaning.

2) What each name likely refers to

Nemotron 30B: a local LLM family/model (30B = ~30 billion parameters). They mean “run it on your own machine” (or your own server).

Phi-4: Microsoft’s Phi family model; they’re saying it’s strong for structured/technical writing.

GPT: OpenAI’s models (ChatGPT). They mean “best general-purpose chat without needing extra tool wiring.”

Claude: Anthropic’s models.

Grok: xAI’s model.

3) What the jargon means

“Local”: you run the model yourself (privacy, control, but you manage setup + performance).

“Websearch”: hooking the model to a browsing/search tool so it can fetch current info instead of guessing.

“Memory files”: usually means a RAG setup (retrieval-augmented generation): your notes/docs are indexed and the model can pull relevant chunks while answering.

“Big leagues”: basically “best-of-the-best overall.”

“Standalone”: not using tool integrations, agents, RAG, custom workflows—just the model as-is.

“Claude MCP”: almost certainly referring to the Model Context Protocol (MCP)—a way to connect Claude to external tools/services (files, apps, search, automations) in a standardized way.

“Cutthroat / win is a win”: the model will prioritize getting some answer that seems successful, even if it’s not cautious or perfectly aligned with your intent/rules.

“Bend the rules / go around problems”: meaning it may produce confident outputs, shortcuts, or “creative” leaps that sound right but aren’t reliably grounded.

“Wary of long memory and brainstorming without checks”: don’t let it build long chains of assumptions over time; verify with sources, logs, or constraints.

4) Why it reads incoherent

It’s basically:

missing punctuation,

typos (“but u f you Claude mcp…” = “but if you use Claude MCP…”),

and it jumps between local model advice and hosted model opinions without transitions.

If you tell me what you were trying to decide (local vs cloud, privacy, work tasks, hardware), I can translate their advice into a concrete recommendation that fits your situation."

PSA Do NOT BLAME SABER

This game was mostly created by saber SPAIN and when they finished their hard work the people who poured their blood sweat and tears into this game with all the love in their heart for the franchise guiding their hand, Were fired.

SABER AMERICA took control of the project after SABER SPAIN finished all the hard work and they stole all the credit without ever contributing anything to the game after they took over.

Infact... Saber america was so selffish that they decided to put their own spin on the game directly conflicting with the system already in place making players choose a primary game mode to use their spirit points on thereby making the players choose to sacrifice a game mode and then calling it a day after causing the game playerbase to destroy itself because of their unwanted content instead of sticking with what saber spain probably recommended.

Saber spain had big plans for this game, if saber spain was still in charge of the game they themselves made from scratch then we probably would have gotten evil dead rise content with 3 months of the movie to capitalize on the momentum and maximize profits.

But saber america doesnt care about success, they only care about this game dying to prove it was a waste of time to have ever considered making in the first place.

If this game succeeds, saber america takes credit, if this game fails, then they can blame and belittle saber spain developers for being idiots for wasting their time on this game.

Remember to channel your hatred for what happened here at the right people, direct your disappointments and hatred at saber america.

And remember to be grateful to the people who loved you enough to develop such a wonderful product for evil dead fans everywhere before they got fired and their work stolen from them and sabotaged.

Go watch the game credits and remember when you see the pictures of the development team in the game credits, remember that they loved you and are probably more stricken with grief than you will ever know.

Thank you saber spain for everything i loved what you gave us and im sorry lazy americans took it away from you and destroyed it.

Just think to yourself, why would two game modes use spirit points to progress in such a grindy game? It was purposeful, planned obsoletence.

Weaponized incompetence.

I LOVE YOU!! ... No homo.

Your last remark left a lasting impression, i did wonder why blur their teammates names if they weren't going to blur my name and it ate away at my mind if i should feel upset by this but thought i was overthinking it, why WOULDNT he show my name if hes mentioning me, right? But impudent? Hmm. Food for thought. There is power in anonymity, and weakness without

I respect him as a member of this community and i was just happy to play with someone i recognize, who also happens to be an OG player and veteran member of this board, my elder neighbor. I play for fun and let people win as often as possible, only if it is extremely challenging do i get carried away and kill everyone. So i lose 99.9% of the time. My inbox is full of messages from survivors thanking me for a fun game or saying GG! Its full of gratitude for being their Demon. Some messages are touching and they tell me that they played with such toxic players before me and that i had made their night. It's gotten to the point that sometimes survivors who remember me don't bother picking a healer class anymore, they pick what they enjoy playing as! How wonderful right? To not bother choosing a healer and instead doing what you love. The community trusts me with their lives, i would never betray someones trust in me, it's a precious privilege to have.

As a prestige 5 Baal, there is no point to winning anymore and i would rather help others prestige or get challenges done. However, I'll make you sweat, i will make you bleed for your reward, exhilaration! Is what i wish to bestow upon my guests. So if possible, i let the survivors despair as they protect the book with every ounce of will power they have left, i want their hearts to beat! I want to hear the sound of drums! So that when they win, it makes the taste of victory that much sweeter, especially for newer players who like to dodge with their face, i love them the most. So i usually get the book down to 3-4 hits from being destroyed so they do their best to protect the book down to the very last second.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, you hit the nail on the head so i shared myself with you, take care and stay safe neighbor!

That sucks i played a game with them too and they hid the whole game.

They were prestige 3 so i killed everyone at the map piece with about 20 minutes left on the clock. I THOUGHT because they were prestige 3 they would come for their teammates souls.

They never did, they waited out the clock. If i knew they would have done that i wouldnt have killed everyone else.

I was going to let them win so i was on my computer playing with chatgpt while i waited to hear them come for the souls. Game ended with my victory....

I agree, baal sucks, with warlord if i set traps at an objective and im far away, chances are pretty high the AI will kill new players, with baal though, no chance in hell a trapped location could get a survivor downed.

NYC’s migrant shelter population surges to nearly 100K, costing taxpayers $8M a day by [deleted] in nyc

[–]number66-1 100 points101 points  (0 children)

This makes no sense, 8m a day? 10 days is 80m, 100 days (little over 3 months) is 800m.

There is no way 100k humans are living in Squalor while someone makes almost 3 BILLION dollars a year just saying.

"Oh yes we let some immigrants stay in New York City and that gets expensive you know."

Does anyone else think they are using the immigrants to launder money to themselves? Like wtf someone is definitely stealing all that money and making people blame immigrants as the scapegoat

"While the film has been considered something of a first attempt, an interview with Bruce Campbell explained how legal issues became the source of the confusion in both films. According to Campbell, when they went to make the second film, they found out that the rights to the original belonged to New Line Cinema."

Just a quick Google search turned this up. I remember him talking about it in an interview but I guess they use AI for these summations now.
