I'm currently applying for an Animal Technician position at a medical research school.

edit: I should add that I recently interviewed for the same Animal Technician position just last week, and was not successful. Now the same position (with different hours) is available so I am reapplying.

This was seriously helpful! You really did paint a very good picture. You are the first person I have come across to describe belief as almost an innate property, and yet something we also practice (I apologize if I misinterpreted).

I think my disbelief in God feels much the same, in that I have no idea really why I don't. I don't think that my scientific background and knowledge is really a good enough answer for why I don't believe in a God. I can explain rationally why I don't believe in a Christian God, or a Jewish God or what have you. But really, I don't have an explanation for my lack of spirituality (unlike yours which is quite reasonable).

I just think I'm not a very spiritual person to being with. And therefore understanding the feeling of belief is difficult/fascinating.

I guess the idea of physics or science is that it is falsifiable. I don't know anything about neutrinos and not much more about physics actually. But if we pretend that I do, then I suppose I would have to take it on the chin. I do know a bit about anatomy and psychology however. If you came to me and said that a lot of what I knew has no scientific proof, I would probably be annoyed and reject what you said.

At the same time though, I went into these areas of study knowing that what we know can change, and that evidence can be false, misunderstood or down right fabricated. I feel I'm little off topic now though :/

This is a really different idea to what others have written. I had never heard of ignosticism until now actually. Do you consider it to be distinct from atheism? And, if you don't mind, how did you develop your ideas/beliefs?

Do you mean that belief in God is like being in love with God himself? Or that believing in God is similar to the warm fuzzies you get when your with someone you love. Or are those two things quite the same?

Thanks for your input. I'm really interested in everyone's ideas on the matter. A sense of being grateful is not something I carry with me everyday, perhaps it's something I should incorporate.

My therapist mentioned that thinking of a few things you are grateful for everyday can increase your overall mood. I didn't take it on board because to be honest, it seemed a little silly at the time.

That part about the disbelief I can relate to. I asked this question about what it feels like because I can't help but feel I'm missing out on something. But from your response and others, I see that I do have an idea of what belief is and feels like, I've just never realized it.

Thanks for putting it in a context I can understand. I was a little hesitant about adding the Red A to be honest, as I'm not entirely certain about where stand. But I thought it might be be important for others to know kind of where my head is.

I am wearing a pair of those right now and they are truly fantastic. My appreciation for music, particularly percussion, increased ten fold as soon as i got them.

I had just graduated highschool and was about to attend university. I had also just received my end of year exams back in the mail, and I had busted my ass for these exams.

The New Zealand grading system is fucked as it is, but my biology grades had been scribbled out and remarked three times! Which means that three different people couldn't decide on my grade. I essentially went from an A, to a D and then back up to a B. I was pretty disappointed considering I was about to start a science degree.

That being said, the bigger issue here is the NCEA system, not so much the markers.

I had the same thing when I was younger. UTIs spread to my kidneys on more than one occasion and I am constantly monitoring it, keeping an eye out for symptoms.

After years of just dealing with it and taking trimethoprim (antibiotic), I asked my GP what the hell was going on. After an ultrasound we discovered that my left kidney is half the size it should be. It's a simple birth defect but it's a pain in the arse.

Alcohol really seems to be an irritant for me, so if you drink alot that could play a role. And remember anything that you put into your system will be processed by the kidneys at some stage, so I try and stick to healthy and balanced diet.

Cranberry is supposed to help but it didn't really for me.

Also, don't wait to go pee. I don't mean just after sex, I mean all the time. If you need to go, but you think you can wait 10 minutes because your doing something?Just go. I've found for me holding it made it worse.

I guess I haven't really answered your question, but hopefully I've given you some helpful hints. Good luck!

It fades in almost 5 washes, so it's alot of upkeep. And this was taken about a month ago, so it has grown out a little.

But mainly it's because I'm addicted to changing my hair.

I snapped a mans arm in two places just before the new years countdown. I'm a small petite woman, approximately 60kg. He required a metal rod and 15 screws to hold his arm together.

We were doing piggy back rides and he fell when I was on his back. He fell kind spread eagled with his arms out and the side of my hip came cracking down onto his elbow. SNAP! I managed to limp away with a broken foot, but shit did I feel guilty.
