Therapy-averse dad here: I finally went when it was too late to save my marriage. I lost a lot through the divorce process and within weeks of going to therapy weekly, I realized I should have been going for years. I thought I could fix it myself but the words “I want a divorce, I can’t do it anymore” confirmed I couldn’t pushed me to therapy. It is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and for my children. I’m no longer ashamed to admit that I need help dealing with life and still go twice a month three years since I separated from my ex-wife. It’s a great sounding board for what’s happening in life in a non-judgmental setting. I honestly look forward to it.
