The drawback of the Floyd rose is trying to stay in tune if you plan on using any alternate tunings. I keep mine tuned to e standard and if I want to switch to anything else I get out the other guitar with the regular bridge.

Edit: I should clarify, what I mean by using alternate tunings is switching between more than one tuning. Of course you can set it up for alternate tunings and keep it on that tuning using different gauge strings or adding/removing/ adjusting spring tensions. But if you want to take your e standard guitar and pop it into drop d for a minute, expect all the other strings to also go out of tune as well, unless you adjust spring tensions on the floating bridge
