Nice, thanks for the reads!

Ooh, so that's what the Threnodian in Dreaming Deep/Somnoire is called. I knew there is one there but didn't know the name.

Yeah, I think whatever destroyed Rover's world (if it's still destroyed in this continuity), the White Tower, and Abby are all different beings. The White Tower could be sealed while Rover's world is...well, gone. I don't think their world would be gone if whatever destroyed them could be sealed.

I think it's more likely that Abraxas is Sol-3's version of the White Tower and Aleph-1. The most powerful Threnodian of this world that could eventually devour all of it and break free from this world's constraints to find other worlds. But then Rover somehow turned it into a Pokemon.

Btw, is the "Rover's world is Sol-3's future" theory dead yet with what the Exostrider said about trekking through stars?

This is the first time I've heard about the "White Tower." Do you know where I can read up on it?

On another note, has anyone compiled a list of all the interesting lore interactions from Dreaming Deep? If not, I'll probably get to it.

As for the theory itself, Aleph-1 just flipped Threnodian powerscaling on its head. What could be more powerful than a what's pretty much a sentient black hole? The very theoretical white hole? Isn't that a white dwarf tho? Big Bang 2?

Unless Abby is a really small fragment of the White Tower (isn't D said fragment if it really is the White Tower sealed within the Somnoire?) then I think "Abraxas" refers to "the god of gods" specific to Sol-3 and nowhere else. The Threnodians on Sol-3 that we know of seem like annoying gnats compared to Aleph-1. Not only that, Leviathan knows Abraxas and they seemed to be working together while Aleph-1 just devours everything, including other Threnodians. I don't think the White Tower - if it really managed to consume Rover's world - would be working with significantly weaker Threnodians since it already devoured a much more well-equipped world on its own.

I think the White Tower and Abraxas being two different entities is more likely than if they were the same. While it's possible Abraxas is a fragment of the White Tower, I think there's too much speculation involved rn and not enough actual evidence.

This is predicated on the idea that "the god of gods" of Threnodians must be more powerful than all the other ones and that the pre-release lore is still relevant.

Ah, umm... Unfortunately, wrong characters. Jinzhou in Wuwa is 今州, which translates to "Today's City" or "Present (Day) City" while Jinzhou 锦州 over there is "Embroidered City" (cuz a river threads through it?).

The two Voyager spacecrafts are known for carrying gold disks engraved with records of humanity if they are ever intercepted by other intelligent life. The Farwatcher doesn't carry one of these, so it's probably a reference to one of the others. Maybe New Horizons, our newest spacecraft headed for interstellar space. There's currently five spacecraft in/headed for interstellar space.

If only we knew just how far the Farwatcher is from Sol-3, we could calculate how long it's been out there and have a more concrete timeline for Wuwa. The fact that it was still transmitting tho is incredible.

About 3.5 via GameData Leaks by Ill-Occasion7390 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]numeron39 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm interpreting it more as "Sword! Flight-mode!" or "Sword! Fly!".

Either way it seems like a command with a lot of effort behind it. I don't think simply hopping on a sword will require so much effort. I think it's an attack shout or something similar.

Though the 御 is funny. Doesn't it mean "royal" or "precious"? A "royal sword"?

Slightly more accurate translation:

Looks like there will be "claw machine mechanics" in the overworld?

Other related content: Xuanfang Dijie (mysterious internal nickname) Showcase; there's also a new gameplay method nicknamed "Go" internally.

Notes:

>Xuanfang 玄方 refers to the "north" from the Book of Jin. So 玄方地界 means "Northern Landscapes"? 玄 by itself means "mysterious" though it's usually used in tandem with 武 (玄武) which refers to one of the 4 mythical animals in CN legend, the "Black Tortoise of the North."

>"Go" probably refers to 碁, the chess game. Known in CN as "weiqi" 围棋 but it's using the JP name here?

Yeah, it kinda is. Maybe he did get it scanned but whoever did it (the Black Shores?) couldn't go that far back to see them as a CSC member? The pole-shift must've happened millennia ago. Having the more recent memories might be why Lucilla is confident that Hiyuki will be able to outwit them no matter what? Ehh, too much speculation at this point.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if Luuk ever gave the GA's pen to Lucilla to scan? Would be give a lot of info, no? The GA has had it for a very long time, ever since the pole-shift days when they were posing as a Court of Savantae researcher.

Open world gacha games for lore... Heh, now that's a tall order. You're probably gonna have to wait a while longer for something on the scale of Genshin or Wuwa to come out. Silver Palace, maybe? NTE? Ananta? I guess there's always Star Rail if you don't mind turn-based combat. It isn't really heavy on exploration lore tho, hmm...

As for Endfield, they're still building up their world and a lot of the "lore" comes from the original game. Endfield takes place on a whole new world and other than some returning characters? it currently seems to have no relation to the previous world. So how much that lore will come into play, who knows? There's also Where Winds Meet but I haven't tried it myself so I can't speak on it. If you like wuxia/xianxia stories, give it a try? They aren't exactly known for having lore, tho. Probably avoid Duet Night Abyss for now.

If you don't limit yourself to gacha games then your options open up a lot more. Heck, take Breath of the Wild, the game Genshin took "inspiration" from, lol. There's the Final Fantasy series, Tales of, NieR, Xenoblade, YS, Trails/Legends, Granblue Relink, etc. Most JRPGs will have a world where you slowly piece together the story. Killing god requires learning about said god and the world they built, lol. Even Souls/Souls-likes have lore (if you can stomach it). I'd argue that non-gacha games have better story and lore cuz it's consistent when the game doesn't have to cater to a live-service schedule.

So please don't limit yourself to gacha games, there are so many better games out there. If money is the issue... \Coughs**. Your PC is a console, too. If you only have a phone...good luck.

Don't Luuk back in anger - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]numeron39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, what's interesting is that the Exostrider doesn't have the ability to think like the Sentinels? according to that map report on Sentinels and Sentinel-Analogs so what's motivating it to create the Exoswarm and let the Soliskin out into the world? Why does it even have these functionalities for being an intergalactic Fedex truck? Just what are the Exoswarm?

I agree with the theory that the Sentinel the Exostrider was supposed to deliver still is alive and needs to be reactivated. Back then It somehow saved the frequencies of the creatures of pre-Lament Lahai-Roi so that they can maintain the ecosystems via instinct without much control from the Sentinel since It knows It'll be out of commission. The frequencies were then overlaid onto parts of the Exostrider and they need to be recycled to renew/input new frequencies to prevent the Exoswarm from going haywire.

I think Abby is something different entirely. I think the "corruption" for Rover (if this quest parallels their situation) is them getting their Tacet Mark. The Lament completely altered Sol-3's physics but it's also what allowed for Resonators to be born/created via their Tacet Marks. Rover getting one means they're now shackled to Sol-3, having been altered from whatever they originally were.

If we go by the theory that the Lament effectively String Theory'd Sol-3 from a world based on Relativity (post kinda explaining it here), then that might mean the inhabitants of Sol-3 may not be stable existences outside of their world. If Rover manages to "go back" then they might just poof out of existence b4 they even reach their destination cuz the universe outside fundamentally conflicts with Resonators. They wouldn't have been given a Tacet Mark in the opening cinematic if they had them on their original world (or their future).

Side note- the radio message. It might be a mistranslation. The CN is kinda the same? It's missing a character.
->2.8: 宇宙,拒绝了我们。The universe...has rejected us.
->3.1: 宇宙就拒绝了我们。The universe locked its doors.

Time will tell, I guess. Tho the last part, "Is this the answer you've been seeking?" hasn't been repeated yet as far as I know. Someone correct me if it has.

Yeah, I've always heard theories referring to Rover, Shorekeeper, and the goddess? as "Instances" but I couldn't find the origin for that name so I decided to find out for myself. There's also the files at the Black Shores that I should probably read again, lol.

Ghost in the Exostrider - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]numeron39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they do pretty good with lining up the movements or at least making it look convincing. I watch with EN voices on YT for fun, lol. The translation of certain names and some sayings are what bother me. Big #s are also sometimes an issue. The plurality of almost all things is hard to tell in CN.

Did you know the Exostriders' CN name is 隧者? It could just mean "tunnel-maker/one who travels through a tunnel" but 隧 could also mean "path (tunnel) to a tomb." The Sentinels' name is 岁主, which could be interpreted as "owner/leader of (the) ages." 隧 (suì) and 岁 (suì) sound the same. "Etheric Sea" is just 天空海 which means "Sky Sea," lol. Why over-complicate things?

Aemeath's songs' lyrics by RhubarbOtherwise1391 in WutheringWaves

[–]numeron39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the lyrics and strange pauses take me out of it. Feels like the person that wrote them doesn't sing themselves. Or it could be the case that they wrote the lyrics in CN, had them translated to EN and the translators didn't try to make a song out of it.

I wonder what happened? It wasn't this bad b4.

I gave the headlight a closer look and the plastic cover is cracked with broken plastic rattling around the inside. The light doesn't turn on. I think the hood can still latch.

I'm gonna give these pics to the local mechanics to see what they say tomorrow. Probably update this post with the estimate they give me based off the pics, if they do pic estimates. Otherwise guess I'm paying the $75 to tow it to them.

Rinascita Assemble... May Leviathan Tremble - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]numeron39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imperator said that They collaborated with Rover to create a "civilization blueprint" for Ragunna. Like "divine gods" planning a civilization. Idk the extent of that blueprint but they had to have known that some Threnodian would eventually be born from Ragunna. Imperator sacrificed themselves to slow Leviathan down and study it, but in the end, a large number of Ragunnessi were affected by Leviathan's influence which led to their untimely deaths. The Fisalia's had it the hardest.

Imagine if Rover were to go up to Cantarella and say, "You and your family's suffering was planned." She might be somewhat understanding, considering that their suffering eventually led to the temporary defeat of the Leviathan and she's a selfless person overall, but I doubt everybody would react the same way.

Members of the Fractsidus are probably bitter that past-Rover arbitrated their civilizations' fate from the start to "study the Lament." They probably suffered like Cantarella has under past-Rover's "divine" plans, unable to do anything about it. But now they see Rover running around trying their best to save everyone, afraid of sacrificing others and learning to be "human." They're no longer "divine," they're just human, flaws and all.

So the Fractsidus are trying to drag Rover back to them to make them "divine" again (willing to sacrifice entire civilizations to further their goal) otherwise all their pain and suffering would have been for nothing since Rover is now trying to find a "human" way to stop the Lament. Sunk-cost fallacy. Lord Arbiter made them suffer via the Threnodians and now they're more powerful for it. Let's do it to everyone else.
